Okafor did well today actually. To say he's a modest 6'10" against Gasol and Bynum, legit seven footers. What we need is to be able to score with teams we can stop completely on defense. We need a guy that isn't CP3 or David West can get give us 20 points any given night. Thornton picked a bad night to have an off game. Ariza isn't ever gonna be that guy. And Belinelli is inconsistent. Quincy Pondexter, once he gets some confidence, could be pretty good, but he's not nearly there yet.
I'm certain Demps is waiting for a month or so for the players we traded to become available to move together for someone.
And another big that's more than just a big would be nice. I'm hearing Andray Blatche or JaVale McGee are gettable. I'm more partial to Blatche. Something about McGee doesn't give me confidence he'll ever reach his great potential, though he's explosive. Plus Blatche has far more skill and bigs with skill are where the money is these days.
Which is why I say Odom really is the difference maker. Not Kobe, he's a chucker through and through, even though he's the best chucker in the game. Not Gasol, cuz he's too soft and needs to play off someone else. And not Bynum who is never healthy, but between injuries.
It's the 6'10" guy(people need to stop saying he's 7'. He's NOT.) that can play 3 positions and handle the rock and hit from deep that gave us nightmares tonight. Only a similar player can stop that. And I don't see the Hornets getting Perry Jones this June.
