    Is Blake Griffin Peaking?

    Hear me out.
I was telling my friend yesterday that I think this is as good as Blake Griffin will be. Not saying that's a bad thing. But I think we're seeing his peak right now. Not saying how long it will last (could be another 4 or 5 years, could be another 12 years.), but I just can't see him being a much bigger producer than he already has become. I see him as a solid 22 and 12 guy for his career, and we're already seeing that.

I just can't see him really becoming much more than what we're seeing now. Not to say that he won't reach a prime year or two of 25 and 15.

Anyone share this opinion, or do any of you want to try to sway my opinion...

Unless he's planning on developing a heroin or cocaine addiction or tearing both ACLs I don't think he's going to peak as a rookie.

I agree. I wonder if injuries will come back to haunt him. You just don't see many high flying kids like him have long careers without injuries. Look at McDyess for a good example.

        Re: Is Blake Griffin Peaking?

Blake's testing fate by being a reckless high flying big man while playing for the Clippers. If he stays healthy he can of course get better. Blake can possibly end up averaging 28 15 and 5 with what he can do on the court.
As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"

He could improve his mid range game a bit

Well with how agressive he is as a player there are gonna be injury problems at some point in his career, but that's just apart of the game.

Unless like posted before he starts doing crack or destroys both knees I see no reason for him to peak in his rookie year

He's just the same as Amar'e was in his first years. He has alot of upside if he stays healthy and develops the same game Amar'e has, shooting jumpers. Let's highlights, more efficiency (both b-ball and health-wise) because nobody can keep this style of play up and stay healthy imo.

                    He may have peaked offensively.

Defensively, there is still a ton of potential there.

                      Re: Is Blake Griffin Peaking?

I don't think he's peaked at all. He could still add a mid-range jumpshot and could be better on defense. This is not to say that he's going to get significantly better but those little things separate the good from the great players. Derrick Rose came in with the same type of game. Using his athleticism to no degree because he could. NOW, Rose has added a jumpshot to his arsenal and is improved on defense and right now he's garnering MVP votes. If Griffin can add a jumpshot and play better defense HE COULD WIN THE MVP one day.

                        Re: Is Blake Griffin Peaking?

Call me crazy, but he looks a lot like Karl Malone when he first came into the league.

Forget Amare, Blake is physically at a higher level now than Amare was when he can into the league (I'm talking in terms of strength).

I don't think there are many 4's that can match his type of strength and athleticism..It's very scary.

Please please, no injuries to this dude. He is a joy to watch.

Unless he follows in Oden's footsteps, no way is he peaking now.

The dude barely has any post moves and he already is averaging 21-12. Some of it may be because of the absence of Kaman.

If he can continue working on post moves, improve his three some, and throughout the years he'll become a better defender from experience.

                            So, no.

Peaking after 30 games? Seriously? So that's it, this what to expect for the next 10 years?

Silly evaluation. He going to grow. Right now he's just pure athleticism. All the other nuances to his game will expand with time in the league. I hope the Clippers organization properly cultivates this guy, but historically that's a long shot.
