The reason he looks so good is because he works tremendously hard in his free time to get better. I don't remember who said it, I think it was one of his coaches who said Blake is the hardest working player he has ever seen. I'm sure in five years he'll be unstoppable on both offense and defense.

Re: Is Blake Griffin Peaking?
22/12 is already an amazing combination. Points and rebounds per game wise, that might be his peak, but there's still plenty of room in his game to grow. Mid-range jumper, having any sort of free throw shot (Am I wrong or does he make Shaq look good?), more polished post game, better defense, etc. He can improve, I'm just not sure it will show in his PPG and RPG averages.NFL: Bills

Re: Is Blake Griffin Peaking?
that's what I meant and should have said. is he peaking statistically? I hope he doesn't waste his athleticism and never seemingly further his basketball skills (looking at you Dwight......), but it's not inconceivable that he won't improve. a world class athlete, with no real reason to improve his game because he is averaging 22-12 already. if the wrong people get in his ear, I could see him never improving his skills.

Re: Is Blake Griffin Peaking?
If you guys see his workout videos after he first got drafted by the Clips, you will be amazed. The guy is a training machine, reminded me of that big Russian guy in the Rocky movies. Haha. He's got the total work ethic.
His game will continue to expand.Comment

Re: Is Blake Griffin Peaking?
Yeah but we've been saying the same stuff about Dwight. "If he can develop some post moves..." for a while now. It's not that easy...although I think there is no way he doesn't improve, even if he improves marginally (adding a consistent mid range shot) it will go a long way.Comment

Re: Is Blake Griffin Peaking?
Call me crazy, but he looks a lot like Karl Malone when he first came into the league.
Forget Amare, Blake is physically at a higher level now than Amare was when he can into the league (I'm talking in terms of strength).
I don't think there are many 4's that can match his type of strength and athleticism..It's very scary.
Please please, no injuries to this dude. He is a joy to watch.Comment

With that said, Griffin has tremendous footwork and body coordination. Don't be fooled by his godly explosiveness and athleticism. The guy plays a fundamental game at his core and his mechanics are great. For example, his FT% is a bit low, but he has good mechanics. There's NO reason to think his game won't improve or continue to grow, especially if you saw his offseason workout videos and while rehabbing his knee.Comment

Re: Is Blake Griffin Peaking?
Not even close to peaking. He's still learning to play the game at this level, frankly. Right now he's dominant just off physical superiority, wait until he learns the nuances and veteran tricks of the trade. The guy's going to be a monster.Comment

Pau Gasol
Zach Randolph
Elton Brand

Carlos Boozer
Glen Davis
Al Harrington
Al Jefferson
Josh Smith

Re: Is Blake Griffin Peaking?
Ive been to three Clipper games this year and have watched a bunch on tv and can easily say that this guy will get better. You have to see this guy in person, he is an absolute monster.
Like what the other poster's have said, his free throws, which he has been working a ton on, will improve with time. His jumper is not pretty at all and needs a lot more work. I can count on one hand the amount of jump shots I have seen him sink.
If you watch the games, he is putting up crazy numbers by scoring a majority of his points in transition and put backs. Once he gets more consistent with his free throws and begins knocking down jumpers, he will be unstoppable. No way is he close to peaking.Angels World Series Championships : 2002
