ChrisMannixSI: Core of the Thunder is now Durant, Westbrook, Harden, Ibaka and Perkins. And if you think Kevin Love isn’t on OKC’s radar, you’re nuts
What's Westbrook's contract looking like(paging Dr. Kully)because if the cap lowers after the new CBA, then it would be extremely, extremely difficult(unless you slide Stern a little somethin'-somethin')for them to afford Durant, Westbrook, Perkins and Love, wouldn't it?

Westbrook is on his rook deal, should be making around 5 million in 2012, the last year of his rookie contract. He's up for a new contract in 2012, same time when Love is up for a new contract.

Agree with you, it's unlikely that they would be able to afford those 4 with Durant already making a max deal. Someone's gotta be sacrificed.

Also Love will be a restricted free agent, and I don't think RFA will be going away with the new CBA

Yeah...and the Knicks' starting 5 in 2012 will be CP3, Eric Gordon, Melo, Amare and Duhwight.

“A lot of it was (about) OKC,” Love said. “A lot of it was a few other teams that just need that one more guy. And a lot of it was circulating around the Lakers, ’cause we were out there as well. There was a lot of pressure and a lot of questions were circulating, and I almost felt like, ‘Damn, I have to take a step back and, not assess the situation, but kind of look at things from a broad horizon.’
“As far as right now, I love the city of Minneapolis. I like Minnesota as a state. I love the people here. Our team is very young. We have a lot of stuff going for us when you look past the win column. I think I just have to look at that come contract time.”

I still can't see how they would be able to get 3 max guys plus Perkins' contract and probably a decent contract for Harden/Ibaka.

                Oh well.

Also, sure they may not be elite for "scaring" the Lakers last year, but I wouldn't be shocked at all if they beat LA in a series. So whatever you want to call them "elite" or "emerging" or whatever, they're here and they're here to stay.
