    I agree.

I think Lebron's past performances (Cleveland's record as a team & his stats) raised the bar too high. You look at his #'s now and you know the hit is a product of being surrounded by Wade/Bosh but he's still gonna be hit with the "he has Wade/Bosh" comments and honestly, I can't imagine the sportwriters voting for him right now.

You can say LeBron plays with whoever... It won't matter. We should sit here and nick-pick and every other supporting players to MVP candidates.

Anyone remember the year Kobe won the MVP? He basically won that award when the Lakers took over the top spot in the West with a win over the Hornets who had the best record in the West. Lakers won that game. And Kobe won the MVP. All the other guys. I can't even remember.
Well based on how they played before Dirk's injury, The Mavs will probably be a top 3 team in the West, so I would have to think Dirk will be in the discussion. Dude's shooting 54% from the field. The only other 20 point scorers shooting even 50% are Amare at about 51% and Dwight at like 56%, and that's because they're more of your classic big men that get their points on dunks (and in Amare's case, some mid-range jumpers too).

Amare and Dirk are in the same boat. These guys are going to put up nice numbers. But their teams are not going to be in the elite section. Yea we can talk about them. But they are not going to win (unless their teams improve).

Who is going to finish ahead of the Mavs in the West for certain? Really, the only team that is pretty much guaranteed to beat them is the Lakers. The Spurs definitely can, but the Mavs have been one of the best teams in the league when Dirk was healthy. There's no reason to assume they won't be a top 3 team in the West if he can stay healthy even with the loss of Butler.

Also, I do not put more weight on what Dirk/Rose are doing by saying 'take them off their teams and they won't make the playoffs'.

Chicago when fully healthy would make the playoffs. Dallas with Dirk is one of the deepest teams in the entire league.

                So spare me with that.

Hard to say about Dirk but Rose has shined without Boozer and now Noah. I'm not knocking Lebron by saying he shouldnt be in the discussion I just think that what Rose has done so far has been the most impressive in my book. I look at Dirk like this. His team when healthy was playing at a higher level. I don't think he has been hooping at a much higher level.

LMAO at the decision influencing the MVP discussion. Lebron putting up the same numbers from last year minus 2 layups and he was hands down the MVP last year. I remember in last years discussion I mentioned someone else could have been MVP and I was attacked.

Rose has always had one or the other though right?

Looking at what the Heat have... I mean I get it, they have 3 of the greatest players in the world on the same team... but outside of that they really have hoenst to goodness not that much else. With Haslem and Miller they would have been much more "loaded" but still paper thin in terms of depth.

Oops, apparently missed him, but yeah, he's shooting like 52%, but again, most of his points is from dunks.

Re: Who is your NBA MVP as of right now?

Here's something some of you'll should check out.Its the players PER score.(Whats Per-

The player efficiency rating (PER) is a rating of a player's per-minute productivity.
To generate PER, I created formulas -- outlined in tortuous detail in my book "Pro Basketball Forecast" -- that return a value for each of a player's accomplishments. That includes positive accomplishments such as field goals, free throws, 3-pointers, assists, rebounds, blocks and steals, and negative ones such as missed shots, turnovers and personal fouls.
Two important things to remember about PER are that it's per-minute and is pace-adjusted.
Because it's a per-minute measure, it allows us to compare, say, Steve Blake and Derek Fisher.)

You do realize that sportswriters have a huge say in this award and he's not exactly on the best of terms with the media.

Looking at what the Heat have... I mean I get it, they have 3 of the greatest players in the world on the same team... but outside of that they really have hoenst to goodness not that much else. With Haslem and Miller they would have been much more "loaded" but still paper thin in terms of depth.
He might have been flying solo for a game or 2 but Boozer and Noah aren't premier players like Wade & Bosh are. We can say bad things about Bosh but he's still accomplished more than Boozer has.

I don't care who they have around them. With LBJ/Wade/Bosh I expect nothing less than 55 wins. If Bron is capable of 60+ with Cleveland then he should be good for at least 55 this year. I gave him -5 in the loss column just based off the chemistry that Cleveland had with him and the injuries Miami has battled so far.

See that was my point earlier.

You can't just simplify it to that level IMO. Cleveland, for all the deficincies they had when it came to the playoffs, were a team perfectly built for the regular season.

They were one of the most cohesive units in the league.

You can't just say "oh Bosh/James/Wade = 55 wins". I could understand if they had Miller/Haslem all healthy and if they had a bit more decent of centers.

                                But they don't
