    There are many factors.

If u win 20 more games but miss the Playoffs or get bounced in the first round, how do u gauge that? 20 games on top of a 30 win team or 20 games added to a 15 win team?

    Griffen/Gordon vs STAT/Felton?

Does Ginolbli have to be a 20+ scorer to be qualified? Can u be a very good team player on the "best" team, or be the obvious standout on a contender?
Thanks for bring a great post.(+million)

My MVP is Ginolbli at least his team can when games without him.(Dallas Fans)

That's an argument AGAINST him being MVP.....in case you didn't know.

          TOP 3

Amare -all this guy does is put up between 25-30 pts and grabs 8-10 rbs. He is also swatting 2.4 blocks per game. Thats tied for 3rd in the league. Can't imagine the knicks being a plus .500 team without him

Rose- In just his 3rd season, Rose has put himself on the same level of the league's elite PG's. No doubt the leader of a tough bulls team. Averagin a 24 4 and 8

Dwight- an absolute monster on D. If he continues to work on his offensive game the Magic will become even more of a threat to win it all

Wade is used to that, but James probably is pushing himself much more than in recent years where he had a comfort level in Cleveland and parts that knew their roles.

So I refuse to buy the 'he has it easy' shtick aka 3 top 15 players on one team.
LeBron in w/ Role Players in Cleveland is harder than Lebron in Miami w/ Big Z, Bosh, and Wade???

            Gibson > Arroyo
            Big Z in C > Big Z in Miami
            Jamison > Bosh
            Mike Brown > Spoeltra
            ???//???

Lebron and Wade have always handled the ball, yet they are working harder NOW then they did when they were on separate teams?

When in Cleveland's Lebron run was he the recipient?

            I'm not sure i agree w/ the
push the ball more and expend a lot of energy
            thang.

most valuable... if you take lebron off the "heatles" they still have Wade and Bosh... sorry, he is not that valuable to his team (the hawks showed us tonight that bosh is more valuable (LOL))

if you take rose off the Bulls how many wins do they have?
same with Dirk and the Mavs?

to me ^those are the two leading candidates (because of how poorly dallas has played without Dirk.

Durant comes in third to me right now because they still have westbrook whos a very good player (some people still trying to say westbrook is better than rose (LOL))

like i've said before Rose (and dirk probably) is facing double teams all game every game and is still dominating games

Despite Wade and Bosh, i still think he's crucial to that team.

No John Lennon, Wade(Paul) and Bosh(Harrison) wouldnt have the same impact.

So you're going to use one game to defend your "LeBron is not valuable to his team" statement. Great point and very logical.

Like I mentioned, if you don't think LeBron is having to do more with Miami as well as work harder this year than his past MVP campaigns, I'd like to hear how you see it.

Amare's a candidate because he's made New York relevant again. Being responsible for such a marked turnaround for one of the league's most prestigious franchises, and changing the entire culture of the team is more important than finishing with a Top 4 record in his regard.

Dirk is a candidate because he's leading one of the best teams in the league, and we saw what happened when he was out for an extended period of time. Oh, and his numbers are not too shabby either.

Rose, well, Rose is just flat out dominating games and leading his team to victory and top 4 record in his conference.

LeBron? Sorry, no. I don't care about his stats. You have 3 guys on one team who are Top 15 in the league, I don't care which trash is on the bench, you're disqualified in my book.

Ginobili should also be in the discussion. His team has the best record AND he's been most instrumental in that. And his team doesn't have NEARLY the starpower that LA, Miami, and Boston have.

We need to stop with that hard-line MVP criteria. Fact is, there are so many things that can make an MVP candidate.
Agree with everything you said here except the bold. To me, Bosh is nowhere near a top 15 player.

Lebron definitely deserves to be in the MVP discussion, but you can't put him above Dirk and Rose. As hard as Lebron is working, he isn't doing more than Rose or Dirk. You take Rose and Dirk off their teams, and their teams aren't making the playoffs.

Sorry didn't mean it like that... I thought it was hilarous that you thought someone on a 45 win team would win MVP. He might be in the talks. But he is not going to win at the end of the day.

I'm pretty tired of hear Bosh is not a top whatever player smh... Anyone who thinks LeBron won't be in MVP talk once the season comes to a close is crazy. Unless the Heat don't finish in the top 2 in the east. I don't see how anyone can say he is not a favorite to win at this point. I like KG in the talks as well.

                          East

                          KG
                          LeBron
                          Rose

                          West

                          Spurs
                          Kobe
                          Durant

Those are the guys we should be talking about. Everyone else is just a add-in who will probably get votes. But at the end of the day will not win because his team is a top 3 team. Yea I know people can complain about the way the award is given out. But that's just the way it is. Also, I do notice the thread title is "who is your NBA MVP as of right now?" Pick anyone you want. But I'm going to stick to this format until I see change who wins year in and year out.

                          Spurs 35-6 - ?
                          Celtics 31-9 - KG
                          Lakers 31-12 - Kobe
Heat 30-13 - LeBron (you could even say Wade. But I don't think his numbers are comparable to LeBron's 25 7 7. But that's just me)
                          Bulls 28-14 - Rose
                          Thunder 27-14 - Durant

Kobe has a good chance to win it as well. Durant will probably finish pretty high like last year. Spurs you can pick anyone from that team at this point.

Dirk's Team is not in the top 3 of his conference. That's why he is not there. And few weeks ago... Yea you could of said he was in there. But right now. He is not. And if he is any talks of MVP. He will be at the bottom of the voting poll for most people because his team isn't doing well.

Anyone remember the year Kobe won the MVP? He basically won that award when the Lakers took over the top spot in the West with a win over the Hornets who had the best record in the West. Lakers won that game. And Kobe won the MVP. All the other guys. I can't even remember.
