Regarding the overall season: Odds of them even returning to the level they were at last year were slim.

They lost a ton of players [Matthews, Korver, Brewer, Boozer]

and in return they got a bunch of question marks in Hayward [rookie], Bell [old oft injured vet] and Jefferson [not a pick and roll player like Boozer was].

They really aren't that great on paper and have been owned by Los Angeles the past 4 years or so. So I don't think they had any real light at the end of the tunnel type visions to begin the season...

Surprise surprise. Kobe shoots the ball 30 times, has ZERO dimes and the Lakers lose.

Is there any other player in the league where you see them score 40+ and then think to yourself, "Oh no. Not good." Because that is exactly what I think everytime I see Kobe get up there in scoring.

I agree with Ex completely. Only thing is, I would actually place blame more on Kobe than Phil as I can't see Phil being happy with or telling Kobe to play like he did in the second half. That was straight garbage.

Oh and BTW, KD should shut his trap.

What in the world is he talking about? Chris Bosh, a "fake tough guy"?

Bosh will be the first to tell you he isn't trying to act like a bully.

“I think he was telling Harden to dunk on me, or dunk the next one,” Bosh said before giving a cleaned-up version of the exchange. “I expressed that, `No, he’s not going to dunk that.’ And he expressed, `Yes, he is.’ It just kind of went back and forth.”

Doesn't sound like Bosh was trying to act hard or any nonsense like what KD was implying.

KD himself said "“No, he’s a nice guy." Shut your mouth KD, you're sounding like an idiot.

It would have been different if you worded it differently, but Bosh has never tried to act like an enforcer on or off the court. He's a clown more than anything, a guy who is going to smile more than scowl.

You gotta admit, Bosh looked a little out of control right there. He had that "Say one more word and I'll knock your *** out" look on his face...

Unrelated to the post I'm quoting, honestly, I just think the Celtics were too good for the Lakers to keep up today. I mean, Kobe only scored 5 in the first quarter, but he scored what, 36 in the last 3? And it's not like he was 14/38 from the field or anything like that. The dude was 16/29, 3/5 and 6/7. Even if he was hogging the ball, he still scored the ball more efficiently than you're going to get from the rest of that team anyway. I have a hard time knocking Kobe for scoring 41 efficiently. If he had done it on 40% shooting, sure, but when he's shooting over 50%, the more points the merrier, especially when the rest of the team wasn't shooting the ball nearly as well. And it isn't just his fault the Celtics shot 60% from the floor and 53% from 3. You're not going to beat a team when they shoot that well.

Edit: Did anybody else notice that the only guy with a positive +/- for the Lakers today was Ron Artest? That's kind of weird considering he might have had the worst game out of all of them offensively lol.

+/- for individual games is a ridiculous statistic. Hell, even overall, it's annoying. Correlation is not causation.

Oh, I know that. I'm just pointing out how weird it is to look at the box score and see everyone in the negative except the guy that shot 1/10 lol. Just thought that kinda stuck out as a weird statistic.

Unless I'm mistaken, Bell's only had one major injury in his career. At least only one major one lately.

I was extremely excited at the start of the year for this team. Hayward seemed capable of producing off the bench, Bell was gonna bring the vetern leadership and tough D that we've needed, and Jefferson seemed like he was going to be a great fit.

But, looking at it now, I was wrong. Hayward, is capable of producing off the bench, but Sloan won't play him consistent minutes. Bell isn't the player he once was. Jefferson is struggling to learn the system. CJ Miles is a chunker. AK is inconsistent. All that and more is frustrating D-Will. He's been forced to take over the scoring role more and it hurts his game and it hurts the team.

To me, it all comes down to Coach Sloan. His system is getting old and it doesn't fit our players that we have now. This team is still pretty talented and capable of beating any team in the NBA on any given night. But, until we get rid of Sloan, we'll never do it on a consistent basis.
