We need this All-star break badly.
Yeah definetly, but Okafor has been one of the big reasons we've been so good at defense this year. I really hope that down the stretch and if we make the playoffs that CP3 turns it on and starts to be more aggressive.

Ofcourse I want Oka back. We are better want him then any other centers we have on this roster.

He shoots a ton...but from where?

Hoopdata's Shot Location tool is showing that among SGs Kobe is only slight above the league average of shots taken at the rim. League is 3.2 attemps/per game, Kobe is 3.7 attempts/per game.

...and from less than 10 ft he leads SGs.

Regardless someone like Monta Ellis gets about 8 attempts per game from 10 ft or less. Which is more than Kobes 6.9, and Monta averages over one less FT attempt per game.

From 10-23 feet from the rim Kobe attempts more shots than any other SG, and is yet still in the top10 for free throw attempts?

Who is fouling Kobe 20 ft away from the hoop?

His FTAs are within merit, and probably overstated because he gets one more call a game than someone like Monta Ellis who is attacking more.

Um, he gets fouled on jumpshots... it's really not that unbelievable. With the array of pump fakes, shoulder fakes and hesitation moves he gets bumped/shoved/hit on the wrist/arm a lot. Besides that, the times he actually does get to the rack he seems to have to get extra hard contact before he hears a whistle.

I can't believe you guys are even paying attention to that dude. He's a Kobe homer and LeBron troll. Are you really surprised he would even say something like that? I'm sure as hell not.

And to your point of 'well he's still top 10 FT attempts' that's why I said 'does it merit complaining on a message board? No.'

I'm not saying he "doesn't" get fouled on jumpshots at all, but most of his shots are taken from the 10-23 ft range and he can't possibly be getting more contact night in night out than someone like Monta Ellis who is attacking the paint more and getting to the line less. That's just illogical (IMO).

OK that's good that you're not saying that. I never said he gets more contact than certain players, so I'm not sure why you're bringing up Monta Ellis. All I said was the refs seem to make sure there's a lot of contact before they make calls, and there are many missed calls on him.

                    Monta is just an example.

An example of a player who doesn't have the NBA "stature" of Kobe, but nonetheless is attacking the paint at a higher rate and coming away w/ less FT attempts.

I'm not saying the analysis is absolute, but is certainly telling...

We all can agree that stars get calls, and that being the case it would seem like Kobe is getting calls. . .especially for someone who is attacking less than other guards and yet coming away w/ more trips to the charity stripe.

Umm, but I wasn't even addressing anything JBH brought up so I'm still not sure why he's continuing a debate on a completely different topic.

Bosh returns to Toronto tonight. To commemorate this special event, I present the thoughts of Raptors fans (special thanks to Google):

                                Horford

NEW YORK -- Atlanta Hawks forward Al Horford doesn't know what Amare Stoudemire meant when he said Horford "don't want to see me" on the court during Wednesday night's Knicks-Hawks game at the Garden.

But Horford is sure of one thing: He has no reason to be scared of Stoudemire.

"I don't understand what he means by that, 'He don't want to see me,' " Horford said Wednesday morning after the Hawks' shootaround. "Like we're supposed to be scared of [Stoudemire]. Ain't nobody scared of him. We're all grown men, so it's all good."

Stoudemire had a direct message for Horford on Tuesday.

"He don't want to see me. I watched him play in [college in] Florida, and I've seen him play a few years in Atlanta. We've got two different games, and we'll see how it plays out [Wednesday]," the Knicks' All-Star said.

Horford said Wednesday that he took Stoudemire's comments "personal" but he would be focused solely on the game.

"It's just another game. I'm coming out here ready to play," Horford said. "He's a talker, he's going to talk. And all I do is, I bring my game to the court. And that's what I'm going to do tonight."
