    Coach of the Year?

After Pop,Jackson, and Rivers, could Doug Collins be in the race if he gets Philly in the top 5?

Im really impressed by what he's done w/ that team.

If the Sixers make the playoffs, Doug Collins should have it locked up. Team is playing out of it's mind with little talent.

Coach Pop or Coach Nate McMillan

Nobody expected SA to have this level of regular season success. And all when Timmay is playing a career low in minutes and averaging a career low in points/boards.

As many injuries as Portland has suffered, to see them above .500 and in the playoff picture in the West is pretty astounding.

That wouldn't be a terrible choice either.

I say a big NO on Collins. The 76ers have been a playoff team the two years before last year. Last year they underacheived and had to deal with some things. Just getting them back to the playoffs is not going to be enough to put him over the top. Especially when you look at the player losses and injuries three of last years playoff teams (Cavs,Bucks, and Bobcats) have had. He is way behind the likes of Pop, Doc, McMillian, and even Tibs and Monty Williams for that matter.

I say it's any one of

                Thibbs, Pops, Nate, Doc

Thibbs has had to deal with no Noah/Boozer... still remain a top 3 team in the East

                Pops/Nate I've already stated

Doc continues to add to the debate as to whether or not he is truly an elite coach. His team makes it look easy out there on both ends. Doc and Rondo share the same dilemna.

Your inner homer and my inner homer are obviously in the same support group. I think the past few weeks his COY stock has taking a hit. If we can weather the storm without Ariza and Okafor and maybe get as high as the 3th or 4th seed I think he has a chance.

                    Doc not an elite coach?

His implementation of that teams' defense is enough to place him there.

And he already won the award in Orlando, yet his status is debatable?

Trust me you just lit the Bat signal...

I personally don't have a feeling either way.. but a lot of folks will tell point to his days in Orlando.

A lot of folks will attribute the wins to his players rather than the coach. A lot of folks will attribute the defensive schemes to Coach Thibbs.

Just like Rondo, people will never give either credit until they do the same things with less around them.

As much as I hate to admit it, I don't think the Celtics would be half as good without Doc coaching them. I think hes the mastermind behind their defensive awesomeness. No offense to KG, of course.

No love for Scott? He has a whole 8 wins with a D-League roster that has to count for something. But seriously my vote goes to Pop or Monte.

I hear you on the defensive schemes, but Rivers brought the idea of UBUNTU.

Phil Jackson had Tex Winters for the Offensive Schemes and MJ for a star, yet Rivers isnt given the same space for bringing the philosophical blueprint the same way Jackson gets love for his Zen nonsense.

Rivers has been to the Finals twice and his resume is still doubted?

Definitely Tom Thibodeau, however its spelled.

Actually, it should probably go to Popovich.
