Plus we got a new state lease deal coming AND we've got nearly 10K in season tickets sold.

We're doin' aight on that end, my friend.

Difference is CP3 will actually end up going there. Melo, Amare, and Paul have been planning this for two years now. The only thing that was going to stop it from happening was the CBA.

That sounds good and all...but ya'll still don't have an owner.

You think CP cares about how many season tickets you've sold? I think not.

I don't buy that they been planning this. If so why would Melo and Stats take these extremely large deal that would require Paul to take waaaay less then his market value to play for the NYK?

Did you miss the part where the guys basically said as much at Melo's wedding?

So? Not to say the idea of playing with the NYK isn't appealing to him. However is he going to leave 40-50 million on the table to play there? Especially when that pay cut still leaves them little room to add any other players.

The big 3 in Miami sure didn't have a problem doing it. I think those three know that they are going to have to team up if they want to win a title.

If what Broussard said is true about him refusing to sign an extension with the Celtics if he is traded there says a lot.

I think the major difference is all three didn't have the opportunity to work on it together like Wade, James and Bosh.

Stoudemire had to sign first. It would have been weird for him to just sign for less. Anthony had to force a trade. It would have been equally as weird for him to take less in an extension.

Paul would have to just take what's left.

I'm not convinced Paul is definitely going to NY, but one thing that's obvious is that Wade, James and Bosh planned this move much longer than Anthony, STAT and Paul. I think the latter thought of it as a reaction to what the former already knew to do.

Even if does happen, I bet the Knicks are still going to find a way to Blow it like usual.

smh @ everybody wanting to team up and go to New York, Miami, and LA.

I was actually pretty satisfied with the Lockout with all of this mess happening.

Why would CP3 sign with a team with such a short title window? You could argue that the window is closed already.

As far as Anthony he could have easily just played his contract out and signed with the Knicks. He wanted the money which was the complete opposite of James/Wade/Bosh. If he would have signed as a free agent this year NYK would be title contenders this year without Paul.

There was also the whole NBA Lockout thing that was definitely a real threat in Carmelo's mind (and I'm pretty sure he assumed that it would be a lot harder to go to NY as a free agent and make decent money street the while Miami thing a couple of months back or hell just leave Denver at all) either which way Carmelo and Paul would make bank on their advertising money alone especially the whole playing in probably the largest market venue for basketball. I've got more than enough feeling if Chris Paul is really serious which I believe he is he would definitely take that into consideration. Plus the end of this year the Knicks have a sizeable amount of cap when you look at their players under contract by the end of this season and combined with the Salary Cap.

He also said Paul has already stated he'd be interested in going to the Clippers. And lol at what was said during a toast at a guy's wedding. The TMZ world we live in... you guys read way too much into some things. Square peg and round hole? Just saw the corners off, lol.

For the record I've always believed James/Wade/Bosh talked to get in their current situation. Never believed Paul wanted anything to do with any of that and still don't. Will he end up in NY? Maybe... I don't think it's any more likely than a few other places, and definitely not bc they're trying to form their own big 3. Melo was going to NY whether Stat, Paul or anyone else went anyway.

Chris Paul requests trade to N.Y.
Chris Paul’s(notes) agent informed New Orleans Hornets officials on Wednesday that his client will not sign a contract extension and wants to be traded to the New York Knicks, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.
As soon as the NBA lifts its lockout restrictions, Hornets general manager Dell Demps wants to meet with Paul and hear that directive from him.

Nevertheless, the prospects of the Hornets executing a trade with the Knicks appear to be relatively dim. The Knicks simply don’t have the trade assets that come close to meeting New Orleans’ criteria for a deal. Demps has been listening to overtures from teams around the league, and has been actively working under the assumption that Paul would reject a contract extension.
