Re: Eastern Conference Playoffs - First Round Discussion Thread
It wasn't about understanding "the shot clock" with him. It's about doing what he's supposed to do---- score the ball.
I didn't see him drive, draw contact, drive & pull up, get to the line...none of that.
For all the offensive "geniuses" on the Knicks sideline (heavy pun intended) why didn't someone get in his ear and say something to him.
Melo had "Hero" playing on repeat in his head.Comment

That really was just a horrendous shot by Carmelo. I honestly would like to know exactly what was going through his head when he went with that.Comment

Re: Eastern Conference Playoffs - First Round Discussion Thread
I recall in the fourth quarter where he drove to the hole, draw defenders, and pass to stat for a dunk.Comment

Re: Eastern Conference Playoffs - First Round Discussion Thread
LOL @ this whole "one call doesn't cost you a game" stuff. Let's say in general, you're driving to the hoop down 1 with a few seconds to go, and you get mauled and it doesn't get called and instead there's a loose ball the other team recovers and the game is over. You honestly mean to tell me that that didn't cost the team the game? Instead of going to the line for two FTs, that's it, game over. I mean there are DOZENS of examples where one call can truly cost the team a game.
Not saying that's what happened here, because I didn't watch, but for goodness' sake, its almost as if some of you guys just want to turn a blind eye or something. Some of you guys are like, brainwashed about it or something, or trying to just be all "tough and resilient" and all that.
No, it's okay to point out things like this. Turning a blind eye doesn't do **** to help the sport.Comment

Re: Eastern Conference Playoffs - First Round Discussion Thread
The game is not a few seconds though, teams have self inflicted wounds throughout the game to lead up to the final seconds like missed free throws, turnovers, horrible shots, etc etc. Regarding last night the Knicks took bad shot after bad shot and then when Billups went down anything that resembled offense went out the window and they went into street ball mode.Comment

Re: Eastern Conference Playoffs - First Round Discussion Thread
lol @ the idea that you have to be a conspiracy theorist to think that one call can most certainly cost a team a game.
Yeah okay, they could have gotten a rebound or an extra bucket or something, but the fact is that a game can damn well dwindle down to a situation where the refs make/don't make/blow one or two calls that really **** everything up. You can play "they shoulda" all you want, but if you're in that situation, you're in that situation. Contrary to popular belief, teams can't control everything that happens on the court.Comment

I honestly have zero interest in watching any of the Philly/Heat games. I really don't think Philly stands a chance of winning more than one game. Just my opinion but I feel almost certain they'll be swept and it won't even be close.NFL: Bills
NBA: Bucks
MLB: Cubs
NCAA: Syracuse
Soccer: USMNT/DC United
