Blocking Kareem or the sky hook specifically?

Only because he got away with so many backing down offensive fouls that were never called.

I'll go with Wilt as #1.

          Wilt.

It says something when the rules of the game have to be changed because you're so dominant.

i think i've seen that as well. but still, for a player to be able to count on one (likely two) hand the amount of times a move he used 95% of the time was blocked is remarkable. that may be proof alone of him being the right answer to the question. scored the most in history and only remembers a defender being the primary cause for a miss 5-10 timse.

I think it might be a tie between Mchale and Olajuwon as the most unstoppable post player. Mchale had more low post moves, but Hakeem could always go to the Dream Shake. At their primes, both had 5 completely unstoppable moves.

The thing about Shaq is the NBA basically allowed Shaq to commit offensive fouls at an alarming rate. Guys would stand there and he would basically run over them and they would either call a foul on them or a travel on Shaq. He would turn into them with his elbow, make contact with their face and they would get a foul called on them. If they called basketball games correctly, Shaq would have fouled out of nearly every game.

he was the most difficult to officiate, because he was literally fouled on every play as well. it was incredibly difficult to really properly referee a prime shaq game by the book. unless he took a shot from outside of 8 feet, he likely didn't make the shot or get the position he wanted to because you were fouling him.

The last two posts sum it up, but I also don't know if people realize that you can "chin" the ball with your elbows parallel. If you pivot in this position it is not an offensive foul. There's a fine line here but it's clouded because the average player either has good position when they pivot, causing the elbow to go around the defender's body, shielding you... or the defender had position and trying to pivot just won't work (in which case, swinging the elbow is an obvious foul). Shaq was so big and strong that he literally could pivot a defender out of the way making it harder to tell the difference between an elbow swing and a proper pivot bc they both resulted in the same outcome. Add the insane number of fouls he took in without a call and it only made sense to give him the benefit of the doubt in many of those situations too.
