So it was Andy that ended that discussion? Personally I think Sideshow is vastly overpaid anyways I would have made the deal if that was the asking price.
Well, they should put names to it:

Would you trade Anderson Varejao and Tristan Thompson for Derrick Williams?

I probably wouldn't, but that's because I think Varejao is a top defensive player in the NBA and Derrick Williams is just a really good player who cannot defend.

I don't know if I like it for Cleveland. Irving needed a guy who could simply catch and dunk off penetration.

Hickson fits that. I don't mind trading the guy at all, but for Omri? I don't get it.

Bigs with motors aren't exactly all over the place, but guys like Omri are much more so IMO. Hopefully it pans out.

If I felt derrick Williams was going to be better than tristan I would without queation. Varejao is a throw away while in rebuild mode and if anything helps the loss column for the lotto if he's traded. But anyway... kinda a head scratcher I can't help but wonder why teams wouldn't offer more than caspi and a nasty pick for a big who can at the very least score off the bench.

Ex man, I don't know how often you've seen Hickson play. Hickson has bad hands and a partial motor. The guy is a great talent who is unmotivated *had to be called out several times by Scott* and a moron. The guy literally plays 0 defense. BTW, the Cavaliers drafted Tristan Thompson who can 1) Dunk and 2) Plays with a high motor.

As for the talent itself...meh, it's about average. Hickson has more talent, Casspi is going to likely going to be just as productive. Casspi will be, easily the starter. He's going to have a PG who can create open shots for him and he has no one threatening his spot in the starting 5. Also, Hickson has already talked about how he thinks of himself as a MAX contract guy and his contract is up at the end of next year.

Personally, this was more about getting rid of Hickson while they could instead of getting blown away with a deal. If Hickson figures it out, then it'll look bad. I don't think he'll ever get it figured out, though.

I like Andy, outside of bringing overpaid. Same way I feel about Okafor it's not just about production, but production vs. cost.

Not that I think any of the rookies in this class are world beaters, but from a business stand point having the 1st & 2nd pick would have been huge for the fan base and would have given them more to rebuild with. Not that you guys made out bad.

Meh, I'd rather have guys that fit the system they want to build rather than guys who make a splash. Making a splash is why they are at this point without LeBron. Now is the time to accumulate draft picks and suck for a little bit. The Cavaliers weren't going to rebuild in a year.

Actually, I'm pretty excited. I think the Cavaliers are almost guaranteed a spot in the top 5 in next year's draft. Which is...mmmmmmm

                  Lol.

Not a bad strategy. I see Irving more of a Mike Conley than CP3. But another top 5 pick and you guys could be a Memphis Grizzlies type team.

Damn, I thought Hickson's motor was about the only thing going for him, lol.

Well I'm not mad at the trade I just am weary a bit. Omri is a fiery and fiesty type guy if anything, he should get the crowd involved.

As for Nene, hmm I wonder where he might end up. NY? Lol. Not sure who has room or money but Nene about to get paid in this weak FA class. Unless the lockout screws him.

I don't know a thing about Omri, but with the Cavs moving Hickson, I say good riddance. Guy played with stone hands, and the intelligence of an onion (and I have no idea what that means either, so don't ask). But honestly, guy showed all the potential in the world, but he's too lazy to put forth the work to get "there".

And if Omri is a guy that plays with passion, then the Cavs are better off. And a future pick, icing on the cake.

Omri is basically an AK clone. They have the same body type, skill set and playing style. Just Omri isn't "there" yet mentally. He's still so young.

He plays with a chip on his shoulder, he seems to enjoy playing defense and he can get out in transition.

We'll see if he ever reaches prime AK levels.

Hickson needed to go, but I don't know how much I like this trade only because of how protected that 1st rounder is. I guarantee it would be a lottery pick this next season and I was hoping it'd only be top 5 or so protected.

But meh, Hickson needed to go. Not sure how I feel about Casspi, but he seems decent enough.

No team in their right mind, especially one as bad as the Kings, was going to give up a lotto pick for Hickson.

There are 15 guys in the next class that are better than Hickson probably right now.

Well hey, the Clippers were dumb enough to give an unprotected pick for Mo Williams (well technically for getting rid of Baron's contract).

I know "it's the Clippers", but it's not like the Kings are at the top of the smart management food chain either.
