He's improved from where he was, but that's not saying much. And at 6' 10" I don't expect 14 RPG but 7 is nothing to brag about.

EDIT: Pack's right, this is Durant vs Melo, not "What BTH thinks about Durant", I have nothing more to add to Durant vs Melo

    Figured you weren't done.

But yup, dude has absolutely no post game and is a "poor defender". Just another T-Mac in the making. Just poor at everything else excepting putting the ball in the Basket.

At least you don't attempt to hide your bias though regarding KD, I'll give you that much credit. Like I said, all I ask is for folks to be objective.

He does but I doubt it has much to do with him being skinny or thin. James Harden is neither but he gets similar treatment like Durant.

But since Melo has been in NY and even his last year in Denver, he's pretty much been what ehh described.

Yeah its not like KD doesn't post up at times and can't become a solid defender with his length..

It does when a Lebron gets hit you don't see it as easily

whats funny is that over durants streak of defenders being unable to touch him in risk of burning themselves, his free throw attempts have actually gone down. last game he had 8, compared to the 15 or 16 he usually gets.

It's different. There's an art to it.

Melo rarely protects the ball and initiates contact with a shoulder. That's what most gifted scorers do, initiate contact to draw a foul and stun the defender, then attempt the FG. Melo sort of does it all one, he leads with the ball and tries to draw contact on his actual FG attempt. It obviously has an impact on how refs view the play since they rarely give Melo those calls.

I'm not disagreeing with anything you said here..I do have a bias against Durant. Just like I did with LeBron. I wasn't on here when LeBron was a Cav but I can promise you I hated LeBron and all the hype he got when he wasn't winning anything. Most of my hate for Durant comes from living here and hearing people constantly praise him as the second coming of MJ, but also all the passes he's got and is still getting from the media.

Then you have dudes saying he could be a top 3 player ever??? Come on now..MJ, LeBron, Durant? Just don't see it..

An interesting article on Durant's defense (or supposed lack thereof)...

Why can't you see Durant being a top 3 player based on his career right now if he stays healthy ?? I am not understanding at all. He's made a finals appearance after like 4-5 years in being in the league. Just like Lebron did in Cleveland. Then you say people praise KD as if people don't praise Lebron as the player who's going to surpass what MJ has done. I am little frustrated about your post. Actually you are biased when it comes to KD. Such a shame.

KD is has been top 5 material in the league since his finals appearance in 2012. 3x leading scorer possibly getting his 4th. MVP candidate, all-star I mean his resume is quite impressive at 24. Like cmon man your pissing me off and KD far from my favorite player dude. Your throwing him under the bus like he isn't achieving anything thus far.

Because top 3 ever is a long long list of players. Players who had more complete games than Durant, and won more rings than Durant. Maybe he's the top 3 since you've been watching basketball, or a top 3 scorer ever.. But even more recently, I'm not putting him over LeBron, Duncan, Shaq, or Kobe just yet... And I don't know that I ever will, we'll see.

Yes he's a great scorer, yes other areas of his game are improving, and yes he's probably this years MVP. But one firey-hot stretch of 13 games, or whatever it is, isn't enough to propel him to or above LeBron's level or say he's good enough to pass 60-70 years worth of other superstars.. People are getting a little too carried away at this point.

I'll admit, I'm overreacting on the TMac statement, just like Anthony heading towards AI status is overreacting. This streak he's on is incredible but it's nothing that hasn't been done before..I think people are living in the moment a little too much at this point.

And yeah, Durant is the MVP until LeBron can turn the Heat into a 63-64 win team.

Uh, no. AI has had a better legacy than Carmelo, so that isn't overreacting. Anthony is indeed heading towards an AI type legacy, great scorer, nothing to show for it. Except, AI has had more success in the playoffs with less, including a Finals appearance.

                            What's the overreaction?

He's averaging about 12 and a half free throw attempts per game during this 11 game run.

Here we f'n go. I don't think he's past Lebron, Kobe, Shaq, or whomever meets that upper echelon of players whom won championships. All I know is he definitely has a chance to be a top 3 or 5 player in the league. I don't care about a fiery strech of 30 points thats not the case with me. The problem I am having I am having is that your speaking for BringtheHeat and that's fine at least your post makes sense half the time.

But don't disregard KD like he hasn't accomplished as much as Lebron has in his stage in his career. Hes made a finals apperance and lost to the best team in basketball.C'mon just another T-Mac whos never tasted the Western Finals during his tenure in Houston Lol. Hey its all good the guy is a premier scorer thats what his game based on. He didn't come into the league looking to dish assist or make his teammates bettee by passing. His game is to get buckets. He shoots the ball very efficiently to. The guy is better than Lebron, Kobe and Tim Duncan at scoring at this stage in his career. LET'S FACE IT!

As far as top 3 players go im not giving him that title and neither should Lebron have it.
