Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Barganing Agreement Discussion

Fisher starts with an apology to the fans.

Says owners "lied" to the press during the press conference earlier. Doesn't specify about the lies yet. Says the league is interested in telling one sided stories that aren't true.

Says he didn't precondition any negotiations
Did not say they did not walk away from negotiations.
Says he always thought they were at 50 therefore there was no movement.

I call bull**** on his "apology" and the owners lying. I hate Fisher and I'll hate him and the NBPA forever if Timmy retires next summer.

Stupid news, but I appreciate the ongoing summary for I do not have access to this press conference.

Owners offer 49-51 and players offer 50-53 and they cannot reach a deal?!

                HOW ABOUT 49-52?

**** both sides. Straight to to hell.

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Barganing Agreement Discussion

If the players are sick of the lies of the NBA owners, then it's pretty much a wonder how they could even bring themselves to play for the league still.

I don't know about them, but I have some integrity. I could never work for a company that treats me that way, trust people I deal with if they act that way, or live in a country that is that way.

The players, though, know they have no other options. And there you have it in a nutshell. The players need this league. Otherwise, they're worthless.

The only way this gets resolved is if Billy Hunter gets fired.

                      End of story.

Hunter talking. Repeating that he always knew that the owners don't want to negotiate. He claims that Stern promised Leonsis and other owners that there would be a NHL style cap. Says that the NHL system is a hard cap.

                        - Players offered a 50-53 band yesterday.

Correct. The players won't go lower than 52.5 on a band.

Players wanted to talk about system but owners weren't willing to discuss system without 50/50 split agreement according to Hunter.

I'm sorry, but I believe that last statement works for either party. The Lakers aren't **** without Kobe, the Spurs without Duncan, and Mavericks without Dirk. They all need each other, but they're too pigheaded and stubborn to realize it right now.
