It's funny because I was just on Youtube watching those homemade mini movies of the Mavs-Heat Finals(which was good BTW)and as I was watching that, for some reason I became more optimistic in that something would get done in the next few days.

And then I come to OS and I see this thread has grown another 2-3 pages so at first I'm thinking "Ok, something got done" until I scroll down and see that talks have broke down. For the first time in this whole thing, I felt like I was caught off guard because I wasn't expecting to see that SMH.

At this point, they might as well just cancel the season because taking a few days off and then meeting back up is obviously not going to change either side's stance on it so **** it.

"Hunter says players won't accept the 50-50 split until players know what the system -- lux tax, exceptions -- looks like."

Then you have all these idiots claiming 50/50 wasn't even on the table, etc.

      The PLAYERS are liars.

Fisher and Hunter just contradicted each other. Fisher said they did not walk away. Hunter just said that they decided to walk away once the owners demanded the 50% band offer.

Just Billionaires fighting Millionaires. The NHL system seems like it will happen regardless of what the Players Union wants.

It'll take a while for the fans to come back after such a long break.

          **** both sides.

Man this thread is hard to keep up with, but I don't want to miss anything because the discussion is so good.

                  - Players offered a 50-53 band yesterday.
Sounds familiar because I remember Leonsis bringing this up over the summer talking to 980 but then he had to cut it short because he wasn't supposed to be talking about it anyway. So I believe Hunter in this regard.

Hunter is filibustering. He hasn't been asked a question yet and we are 15 minutes in. He's also letting ALL of the behind the scenes stuff out. People killed Stern for leaking the 50/50 2 weeks ago. Lets see if people say the same about Hunter.

Billy keeps repeating the same thing over and over.

Sounds like a liar. A very bad liar.

Of course not. Because Hunter is the leader of the oppressed players.

Yeah, its been well known that Ted and the other NHL team owning owners want a system similar to hockey. I just didn't think their were enough of them and that he would jeopardize his brand/league to do it. Well, guess I was wrong.
