That's still insanity to me. How the hell did they meet that long and not talk about anything? What the hell were they doing in there, having a 2K12 tournament? Dicussing they're Fantasy Football teams? It's crazy.

Remember small moves were made during those long meetings last week, enough so that when they broke away for the last 5 days there were secret phone meetings and things were agreed on quick enough to throw this meeting together today..

Caution flag being waved by same source: any talk of "major progress" is premature. But again, they are closing the gap on system issues

              ChrisMannixSI Chris Mannix
Sides are still navigating the system issues, source said, but believes a middle ground "is within sight." BRI split still needs work.

...how rank-and-file on both sides will respond to it. Remember, small groups has meant progress. When it goes big, it usually blows up.

Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...... I dunno about all this, lol.

EDIT: They're having a presser at this hour, lol. Fisher and Hunter say BRI wasn't even discussed? How could any "progression" be "made" if the most divisive issue wasn't even brought up? They say if a deal is done by Sunday or Monday, an 82 game season is "salvageable".

Stern says it was "such a good day of negotiations", smh. They'll meet again at 2pm ET tomorrow/today. Also says "until we have an overall deal we don’t have a deal on anything." Well no **** there, David.

LOL probably...but this really is the first time weve seen a glimpse of progress coming from the horses mouths themselves....

the "no closer to a deal" line wasnt thrown out this time from either...

                        we will definitely see...

BRI isn't the most divisive issue though. The system is. Hunter hinted that they would consider 50/50 if the system issues were worked out. The players aren't willing to consider 52 or lower without the system issues aren't worked out.

Looks like my thoughts are getting closer...

Really hoping that they get something working out. This is starting to get to me.

Billy Hunter: We know that their number has been at the 50 mark.

Stern: I think we return to the split when we finish with the system. Right now it hasbeeen profitable to return to the system.

Silver: We did ultimately take their suggestion that we park the issue of the split in revenues. They know where we stand.

Combine that with the comments by Hunter last Thursday that they would consider 50 if the system was right and I think the BRI is the least important piece of the puzzle. Remember they aren't that far apart on the numbers. The players want a band of 50-52.5. The owners want a band of 49-51. The players want some concessions on the system if they are going to go that low. If they ware working on the system. The BRI will come.
