Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Barganing Agreement Discussion

The last time David Stern was on the LeBatard show, he said that the league opened the books to the players. It wasn't like how it was with the NFL. But then again, this interview was back in July/August.

OK, yeah your right. My bad. That one did pass me by.

BUT I still feel if there was some good faith among the owners and players they could agree to a moratorium for the year to hammer out a deal. There is no labor laws that would prevent this. You might be right about how it'll turn out BUT if these guys really want to preserve the season and the game they would have at least considered it.

Why would one more year matter? They have been meeting about this for 2 years and we are still looking at cancelled games.

I know they've been 'talking' about it for two years. Having they been actively negotiating for two years is the question.

They havent but they wont actively negotiate if the deadline is pushed back a year.

              Basically.

If anything, they would just do the samething they're doing this year: Wait until almost-absolute last minute to get something done and then start setting BS deadlines.

I think both sides should be concerned that it seems like the majority of sports fans don't even care about the lockout.

If you're reading this thread/post, you're probably a hardcore NBA fan. If the NBA was to cancel regular season games, are you going to lose any sleep over it? I know I won't. Money and time that would have went to the NBA would just go to other activities. Both sides have given the FU to the fans.

I'm not losing sleep over missing 2 weeks.

Now after a month? Maybe two months? yeah, I'm losing sleep. Mainly because I fall asleep to the late game on TNT on Thursdays. But also because I love the NBA and need quality basketball, not these bull**** charity tournaments that is just low quality basketball.

The problem, like I said, isn't the two weeks. It's that they aren't close an we'll probably end up missing November because the players are idiots. If I don't have basketball during Christmas, i'm going to be pissed.

Nope because I know I have other sports to hold me over until about April and because I knew for a while that there probably wouldn't be any Basketball this year.

I love it just as much as most of us on here do but I don't love it enough to the point where I'll be disappointed if games are missed in November/December, especially when the people responsible for this don't seem to care about it either.

I don't care since I'll be in bootcamp so I was going to miss those games anyways but now they won't be here so I'm all good in the long run, it's like I didn't even leave! Thank you NBA for looking out for me!

I'll be glad when they just say the season is cancelled because I'm tired of checking esnp and nba.com everyday hoping that there has been progress. If the season can't start on time it might as well not start at all.

                          sorry I'm just very irritated

I know for a fact that I'm already disappointed and sad there is no hoops. Man, I started missing the NBA the day after the draft. No season equals a really long year for me.

When/if we get bball great I'll go back to being fanatic about my Hornets, but until then I'll spend more time doing all the other things in life I enjoy as if basketball never existed.
