Gonna take a while for me to feel even the slightest bit comfortable in forking over my money to the league.

More news to have at least 'guarded optimism' of a potential deal. NBA making call to arenas to block out some time at the end of April to schedule games for an 82-game season.

The NBA league office is contacting arenas to lay the groundwork for a revised schedule of 82 regular season games.

NBA Exploring Plans To Extend Season Through Late April

In a sign that a new collective bargaining agreement is taking shape -- and of the league's desire to preserve a complete schedule if a deal is indeed struck -- the New York Times has learned that the league has reached out to its arena contacts in an effort to block off dates on the calendar that come after the 2011-12 regular season was previously scheduled to be over.

"League officials, anticipating a resolution, are quietly preparing for an 82-game season," writes Howard Beck. "The N.B.A. has begun calling arenas across the league, asking them to keep dates open in late April, according to arena officials."

The sides broke talks around 10 p.m. EDT on Thursday and will meet again Friday morning. Both the league and union gave the media cautiously optimistic assessments that indicated an agreement was within their grasp.

              LOL Right.

I've already got a few dollars set aside for at least 2 of the Nets-Knicks game and one of their games in DC.

                Haha, right.

I've waited over a decade for the Bulls to be really good again. Any chance I can get to see them I'm going to do it.

Other than not being able to use Josh Selby in 2k12...what exactly would i be upset about? If they come back with a full 82 game season, my league pass is going to feel even more valuable, i assume it would be multiple games going on Thursday nights instead of just the TNT matchup

yesssssssssssssssssssssssss! Thats what ive always wanted, i never wanna see the Heat, Lakers, Celtics every week. *thank you basedlockout*

LOL. I called the Wizards today to make sure they had the right address to send my tickets. Suffice it to say, I'm kinda optimistic.

                      *shrug*

Guess I felt that way even before all this nonsense happened.

I guess I'm just looking for any reason to drop it for good. Too bad we won't get a canceled season to knock these people down a bit. But I guess if they're gonna rake in from the public anyway, they don't give a **** what happens.

Ironice, I got a call from the Bobcats office about tickets as well...

I'm surprised how optimistic you guys are. Don't let them fool us again, we've seen this rodeo too many times. Until the "breaking news: NBA lockout ends" is scrolling across the bottom line I won't buy any of the hype.

I actually disagree with that. This is the first time Stern and Hunter have openly expressed any significant progress. Before we were optimistic about unnamed sources and leaks saying that progress was being made.

I've been following this pretty close, and if there was a time where there was this much optimism (spoken optimism at that) from both sides on getting a deal done, I must have missed it...there are some hopeful signs.

That said, a page back everyone has said that they are cautiously optimistic....there's a real chance that this could fall through that we are all aware of.
