    Deron Williams:

This is why I said we should have done this in July bc at least the process would have been underway... even over! Now possibly <S class=hash>#</S>NOSEASON
But you see Deron, that would require common sense to be used throughout this but as you can see...it was not.

Enjoy Turkey my man and if you're not a Net by the time this is over, I can say that I enjoyed the ride of having one of the best players in the league play on my sorry *** team for a few games.

EDIT: Oh and RIP New Jersey Nets.

    See you in Brooklyn.

I probably would, but I have been such a casual fan; I was learning so much last year about the ins and outs of NBA basketball. I learned the plays and substitution strategy and stuff like that. They had a great season, I learned about all the players. I am a hardcore football fan and I was becoming an "amateur" NBA fan, lol.

Now? I'll have to re-build all that knowledge again with a whole year off. I'll have to start caring about the team again after missing a whole year. I dunno.

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Bargaining Agreement Discussion

NEW YORK -- Unable to reach a collective bargaining agreement with the NBA, the union representing the players dissolved Monday and paved the way for a potentially lengthy and ugly anti-trust lawsuit to be filed within days.

With a unanimous show-of-hands vote from as many as 50 players, the union sent a disclaimer of interest letter to commissioner David Stern, which effectively ended the National Basketball Players Association's role as the collective bargaining agent for the players. Outside counsel Jeffrey Kessler and star attorney David Boies -- whom the players met for the first time Monday -- will lead the legal team that will sue the NBA alleging anti-trust violations.

"We've negotiated in good faith for over two years," said Billy Hunter, who now becomes executive director of the National Basketball Players Trade Association -- no longer the leader of the players' union. "The players just felt that they've given enough."

Stern, speaking live on league broadcast partner ESPN, called the players' tactic "a charade" and characterized it as a "magical trick" that ultimately will fail.

"What they've done is destroyed incredible value that would've gone to the union membership," Stern said. "... We were very close, and they decided to blow it up."

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Bargaining Agreement Discussion

I just want to know how the players are going to spin this.

The NBA did literally everything to perfection to ensure they could not be sued. They heard the threats from Kessler and filed a lawsuit. They allowed a federal mediator to come in and negotiate a deal, listened to the mediator, accepted 5 of 6 of his proposals, and have constantly been willing to make a deal, and have offered two proposals. And yet, somehow, they are not negotiating in good faith.

Unless Jeffery Kessler and David Boies have a judge they are paying off, there is no way they can win. So why are the players doing this? Especially when it seems they could not pass a decertification vote?

It's mindblowing stupidity by the Union Leaders and will end up with every single one of these morons unemployed. Jeffery Kessler and David Boies are two union council and they haven't been successful in major cases in a long time, Kessler representing the NFLPA which got shot down by the courts, and David Boies who could not successfully argue for Al Gore.

Those workers will be fine. 80-90% of those arenas have college games, hockey games and concerts scheduled in place of those NBA games.

Yeah, that's right. This was supposed to be their last season in the Dirty. They were bad more often than not but I have some good memories of watching them. Happy trails...

Maybe a few will lose their jobs, but Arenas are already booking new dates.

I wouldnt say the NBA fanbase lacks intelligence, but they are by far the whiniest fanbase, lol

Suprisingly, Most of the fans seem understand the idea that greed is the basis of this whole thing and that both sides have the blood of the season on their hands.

I'm a die hard Nugget fan and a die hard NBA fan but I seriously hope and pray that the NBA 12 - 13 season starts in empty arenas.

*******s to the fullest. Can somebody please tell me how stupid they are?

Still going to take a decent hit. I doubt they can fill in all 41 dates lost because of the lockout.

I agree that there is something to be said for standing up for what you believe in, but is this really what the players believe in or is it standing up for what other people are telling them to believe in?

I don't believe that, so your telling me they're are more basketball players making more then college graduates, I saw on yahoo that Samari rolle, formerly of the ravens, is living in his parents basement, I'm not saying not go to the nba but get ur degree as well as play basketball.
