Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Barganing Agreement Discussion
Maybe its one of those empty threats by the agents, but they have no other interest accept dollars, so their movtive is inherently clear
I just don't see guys like Sarver and Bennet bowing down to that sort of thing at all...
I guess I'm still with Pack on this one, don't have a good feeling at all about today's meeting then.Comment

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Barganing Agreement Discussion
The players are expected to only give in this so call "negotiations". The players seem to get this, but the owners want more. At what point during negotiations, where your making all the consessions, is enough enough?
I have mostly been on the side of the owners early on when it was reported that they were losing money, and they said the players wanted a larger cut. Now it appears that they feel like they have a big advantage and they're trying to swing the hammer to get all they can get.You looking at the Chair MAN!

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Barganing Agreement Discussion
According to Wojnarowski, the demise of Stern is pre-mature. It seems according to Wojnarowski, Stern is still ruling the owners side with an iron hand. My favorite excerpt for the article:
According to one owner, his peers would talk of how they have grown tired of David Stern but it would fade away once he walked through the door.
“All of a sudden, all these rich, powerful guys are just staring at their shoes,” the owner said.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Than the one who comes up like an angel and is nothing but a devil. - Malcolm XComment

These comments really get to me:
One prominent agent told CBSSports.com Monday that the owners' position is "out of touch with reality."
"These guys think they're entitled to have a business that’s fool proof," the agent said.
The agent was asked what they will do if the owners maintain this position on Tuesday.
"Then I tell them," one of the agents said, "see you in court.""We're not just walking off the cliff with (Billy Hunter)," said one agent to Yahoo! Sports. "We're ready to take the next step and decertify.
"We're not going to let the league set up tomorrow's meeting as a way to trap us into a bad deal."Comment

It would be awesome if any new CBA had language that would limit Stern's time as commissioner.
Wish Jerry Colangelo was commish.Comment

As sad as it sounds, I have already prepared myself for no NBA this year. I will miss it like hell, but the shock will be lessened because I have been preparing myself since July.Redskins, Lakers, Orioles, UNC Basketball , and ND Football

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Barganing Agreement Discussion
Yeah I have conditioned myself not to care at this point. I'm not angry at either side even though I've flipped-flopped on who I think is to blame. At the end of the day it's business and I would most likely have the same stance if I was on either side. You looking at the Chair MAN!

This is not even like '99 to me. It's worse.
Part of me wishes the underclassmen who were drafted could go back to college and we'd have just a crazy NCAA season.Comment
