Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Barganing Agreement Discussion
Garnett should take Ray Allen's stance and realized that he has been blessed and honestly can't ask for anything more
I didnt hear what Melo said, what did he say?
Maybe those guys are worried about not getting huge extensions in the future as well, but thats just ridiculous
For all that Spree said and did about money, he backed it up and left and never tried to come backComment

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Barganing Agreement Discussion
This is mainly what I was speaking on about Melo:
Anthony, who said he is trying to organize a charity game for November in New York, said, "We'll let [the owners] keep doing what they've been doing. If they want to lock us out, lock us out. We're sticking together as a union, and we'll continue putting games on ... It's sad all the way across. Sad for us as players. It's sad for the whole NBA. Sad for the fans of the NBA."#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Barganing Agreement Discussion
Aaron... did he really say that?
I honestly think anybody that made enough millions to support 3 and 4 generations shouldn't have anything to say at all
Let us play???
Take some responsibility first... this is like taking a step backwardsComment

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Barganing Agreement Discussion
The longer this goes and the more these player speak, the more aggravated and annoyed I get by this situation.
Either they think they're saving face with the public (which is not even close) or the scary part which is they actually think they're the victims in this situation.Comment

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Barganing Agreement Discussion
"It was shortly after that that my man Michael Tillery (who, by the way, disagrees with me that the stars couldn’t put their own run together), from the terrific website The Starting Five, asked Anthony why the star players don’t speak out like the NFL’s players did during the NFL lockout. ‘We’re not allowed,’ Anthony said. ‘I mean, everybody has their own opinion. You hear people talk here and there. But nobody comes out and says what they really want to say. That’s just the society we live in.’ He laughed a little. And, then: ‘Athletes today are scared to make Muhammad Ali-type statements.’"
Ali was talking about his opposition to the war not the millions of dollars in revenue. Poor comparison on Melo's part.Comment

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Barganing Agreement Discussion
It's not wrong to say you're with the players.
Plenty of people here were in support of them before but they've definitely lost some support from people with some of the idiotic things they've been saying/doing over time.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Barganing Agreement Discussion
Has anybody trolled Dan Gilbert(http://twitter.com/#!/cavsdan) or Robert Sarver(http://twitter.com/#!/robby_sarver) Twitter accounts?
Com'on, let's be fair about this. Players can get their share of the blame but I see too many people letting the owners off the hook for this mess. I see too many people making this a one sided affair and some of us are not looking at the bigger picture. Yes, the players are opening their mouths too much and just saying all the wrong things. BUT there are some who focus on stupidity too much and we miss the other end of the problem.
I'll admit, I do have somewhat of a bias towards the players. BUT they are ****ing this up big time. And they have painted themselves in a corner that they're not going to get out of. As I stated before, if they wanted to win this war they would have took a page out of the MLBPA and held a players strike back in March. Could you imagine the panic the owners would have went through if that would have happened? That number of 22 teams loosing money would have went up to at least 28. Yes, players would have lost money as well BUT on the heels of a great season the owners would have thought Armageddon was happening.
Billy Hunter probably should have followed through on his plan to have players strike at the All Star game last year. That would have gotten some attention. And they probably would have realized how much power they were carrying. But alas, that time has past and they just need to concede right now.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Than the one who comes up like an angel and is nothing but a devil. - Malcolm XComment
