    Thanks for bringing him up.

Some good answers here. I agree on Perkins, Kwame, Jason Collins, Joel Anthony, Noah, Bogut, Varejao, Nick Collison, and of course Chuck Hayes, he reminds of those great centers of old with his strength, positioning, and determination, a real banger, somewhat of a lost art in today's nba.

Really confused wondering why Emeka Okafor hasn't got a mention yet. When I hear low post defender I think about someone who actually defends post players well. Dwight Howard, along with most the other names mentioned, are primarily help defenders. Dwight Howard is definitely a great help defender but hasn't done much to show his low post defense abilities. Granted much of that is because there are so few actual post players in basketball right now but the last time the Magic and Lakers met Bynum was the only player on the Lakers play well (around 20 and 10 over 50%).

Okafor on the other hand has made a career out of taking out the opposing teams key post threat (if there is one). Watch Pau Gasol play when Okafor is on the court and you will get an idea of what I mean.

To be honest about it, I just plain forgot about Emeka Okafor. He's a really good low post defender as well. Thanks for pointing him out, MikeBadge.

As for Anderson Varejao... excellent P&R defender, average low post defender.
