No idea what the beef is if he did. There's a 500 page thread filled with examples of why people have thought Lebron is immature. Yes he's human... and many humans are immature. No idea how that is a counterargument. The way he approached free agency was immature. The Decision was immature. His comments after the finals was immature. I could go on for days.

None of us know the dude so it could just be socially inept, coming across as immature. But you don't know him either so what you see as "Real" could be fake as hell. But from my keyboard to this message board he has done many things that would lead one to believe that claims about his maturity have been correct. Feel free to disagree but you haven't really made a case otherwise (has nothing to do with people just wanting to pile on him).

People make comments all the time about his mentality towards the game

I didnt say he was immature. I said the culture you're around and who you're brought up under matters

Check the list of names and see if that doesnt make any sense.. Had Lebron had the kind of covering Kobe has had from the beginning the dude would be in super high regards hands down

As of now you get stupid things blown out of proportion like what Bird said yesterday... it really gets tiriing IMO

Anyway, relating that to the Wizards.. McGee as Wharton notated needs someone around him like an Oakley.. a real mature vet who'd definitely show him some ropes

Maybe I'll be proven wrong in the future, but I don't think McGee would be that much further along if he on a team with Magic, Bird, Jordan, Stockton, Nash and several other of the greatest basketball minds of all time.

I'm not making a joke when I say that I truly believe that he has some kind of learning disability that makes his potential much lower than his physical gifts would suggest.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

I don't think he's slow. I think he was a spoiled kid who's mom played pro ball, so he has a sense of entitlement. Since he's so tall and does have talent, he's gotten by all the way to the professional level with that sense of entitlement and working on raw talent so it'd take A LOT to convince him he needs to change anything he's done.

At the same time, that's not really his fault.

I can bet he rarely heard his coaches get on him about developing a legitimate post game, or court awareness, or work ethic. Dude's who have talent coast and get by, if you've played with the guys on your HS's basketball team, you know this. You're being a borderline try-hard in gym, and the dude across from you is hardly trying, and he's can still do more than you.

Also, no one is born with work ethic. That's something that comes from one's OWN desire to get better. Now, if he's never been in a culture or environment or situation where he had to work hard or get better, then is it his fault he doesn't work hard?

A lot of guys in the NBA, especially African-American dudes, were probably poor, or lived in the bad neighborhood, or were in some other situation, and their motivation to "make it" was to get their mom or family out of it. So they have that mentality where they're gonna do whatever it takes to make a better life for their parents and their kids.

But, if you have everything handed to you, why should you work hard? If I step on the court and I can score easily because I'm a foot taller than you in HS, then why do I need a post-game? I can just shoot or jump over you, simple.

I'm not saying I condone laziness or anything, just giving some perspective. A lot of guys who don't work hard usually have an underlying cause or reason for not working hard.

Don't really know what your point is. I don't care who you want to blame it on, just stating the situation. And if I'm looking to hire someone to work for me I'm not going to consider why they're lazy, stubborn and have a sense of entitlement... I'm just going to hire the other guy that works hard and is eager to learn and grow.

I was just saying that there could be other factors as to why he doesn't work hard. Not simply because he doesn't care. But, only he would know.

As to your second point...well, yeah I would agree .

Didn't mean to seem like I was attacking you on it. Basically everybody's got their story of why they are who they are. I wouldn't hate the guy for who he is, but we're talking about his job and that he's not as good at it as he should be. The "why" doesn't make me want him on my team any more or less.
