    Re: Boston/Dallas Depth Charts

Howard has looked good during the preaseason. Now none of the players should be worn out once the playoffs start if they can get team chemistry together.

That looks about right to me too. That is one of the strongest starting 5's ever. They can all score or pass, and they all can't defend. Ok, that's not entirely true, they can defend, just not really well. They will lead the league in scoring again, no doubt.

The Mavs improved the strength of their team. Their weakness was going to be a weakness, regardless. Do you think Raef can hold Shaq or Duncan?

                        <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

Exactly. Why even bother to try and have an answer for Shaq or Duncanm, which would cost them to lose some of their firepower? If this were the 90s when Ewing, Shaq, Hakeem, Zo, etc. all dominated, then it would be a different story. But there are more good 4's than 5's now. I think this is how the league is going to look 5 years down the road especially with the European big men coming over and having the ball skills of 1's and 2's.

I think the Lakers and Spurs have to worry moreabout how will they stop Nash, Finley, 'Toine, 'Tawn, and Dirk at the same time and especially in the 4th quarter. I would be a lot more scared to guard all five of them than just Shaq. Shaq can get in foul trouble, but all 5 of them won't all be on the bench due to foul trouble.

God that's gonna be one scary fast break. Who do you guard? You might as well give up a lay-up because if the fast break defense stops any penetration, the mavs can just swing it back outside to any of the trailers and then rain 3s down on them.

Payton is a great defender and he can stick Nash. Kobe is another great defender and can give Finly problems. Malone is a power house, so Jamison and Walker will need to settle for the outside shot, and Walker can be very streaky. The only problem is Nowitzki cuz he can go outside with Shaq, but if he has a bad shooting night, than its over for them. And for the mavs its pretty much one and out (no second chance opp.) unless Fortson is in there
