I forgot, the NBA GM's are stupid.

If Emobert gets more than the MLE, then that would be right in line with these other (moronic) deals.

I gotta say, I'm getting really annoyed with this "trade me here" or "if you trade me, release me and I'm going ____" crap.

The new CBA is useless, considering it seems the GM's are going back to overpaying players again, why they were in this mess to start with.

so that they can still make money while giving out bad contracts...the contracts were never the "real" issue

We'll see more overpaying than anything else in this new CBA. The higher cap floor will force some bloated contracts. The key is to get a productive player, even if you have to overpay.

Some of these, like the Chuck Hayes deal, are really moronic.

Sadly, that is what I didn't like about the salary floor.

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)

Man, Chicago would be the PERFECT place for Dwight. He already has, at the most, and friendly relationship with Derrick Rose (and at the least, a business one). Chicago is a big-market team that really LOVES it's team.

Only thing is, are the Bulls willing to give up Noah and possibly Taj Gibson? And also, how would they be able to take on Hedo Turkoglu? Turk would be useful in Chicago as a Point-Forward when Derrick is on the bench, and he's more versatile than Luol Deng IMO. I think the Bulls should honestly get rid of Luol, and that could clear the way for Turk to come in with Dwight and start for the Bulls.

                  Here's to hopin'!

What has stayed the same pre and post lockout? Bad contacts and Adrian Wojnarowski/ David Aldridge are still the reliable sources over Broussard and Bucher.

                      i understand that he's 34

but he can still hit 3's, handle he ball and present some offense...i would say he's still better than anyone else Dallas has offensively at SF/SG creating their own shot do you disagree?

i also heard that 30+ year old vets Terry (33), Marion (32), Kidd (38), Dirk (33) couldn't win a title at that age.

Liek i said they aren't asking Carter to be the #1 guy that is Dirk...they are most likley going to ask him to split minutes with marion and make up some of the offense they lost with Butler

Butler avg 15 PPG on 45% last year...Carter avg 13 PPG on 43% shooting last year....

I would think just like Stackhouse and Butler before him Carter will benefit from playing with Dirk as a weakside shooter but maybe i'm wrong and don't know what the hell i'm talking about

Vince Carter played in 73 games last season, so I don't know where the IR comment comes from. He's 34 and can still produce at a level suitable for a 3rd or 4th option on a contending team.

thank you....it's not like Dallas is asking Carter to come in here and be Vince Carter from 4-5 years ago

The Mavs just need shooters to surround Dirk and make people pay for doubling him.....Carter will do no worse than Butler or Peja when they were left open on the weakside.

I think if he gets 20-24 MPG he can give the Mavs about 10-12 PPG on 45% shooting and his 3-pt ability bolds well in the Mavs system...not sure why people are looking at this from a individual standpoint instead of from a system standpoint and how Carter can fit into Dallas system which is to surround Dirk with shooters who can spread the floor.

Celtics are putting together a nice little squad on the low. Having Jermaine O'neal off the roster is just icing on the cake.
