Starting to hear Mavs going to buyout Odom's contract, personal reasons. I know his dad has been sick, not sure the extent. Crazy, man.

Just going to wait and hear what is going on before passing judgment. Had alot of weird things happen throughout his career, not too concerned with the LA angle atm

Would Lamar even want to go back to LA? Especially with how depressed and pissed off he was when they traded him for nothing?#RespectTheCultureComment

I doubt, especially if he asked to be traded. I can see him in LA, wearing Clipper colors.Comment

I don't care either way, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least if he returned.Comment

Gotta be something serious. No chance in hell Dallas would buy him out just so he could go back to LAC or LAL.Comment

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
Also, for what it's worth, he was quoted as saying he was considering stepping away for a year and getting his head right after the summer he had...
This past July, Odom’s 24-year old cousin was murdered, which took a toll on him. To make things worse, just days after his cousin’s death, Odom was a passenger in a car that killed a teen pedestrian when the car he was in collided with a motorcycle. As a result of those traumatic events, Odom seriously contemplated taking a year off from basketball, and possibly longer.
“My wife talked me out of it,” Odom told ESPN.com.
“Cause I was asking myself: ‘Was I mentally prepared to play? If I didn’t play well, was I mentally prepared to help the team?’ I had thought, ‘Maybe I need a year.’ Because of the lockout, I thought, ‘Maybe somebody’s sending me a sign that I needed this time off.’
“(But) when I told some of my friends and family that I was thinking about steppin’ back for a minute, I think the reaction from the closest people to me kind of gave me the energy to get back at it.”

Don't think it will happen but it also would not shock me if Lamar Odom announced he was done for the yearLast edited by Drewski; 02-27-2012, 10:41 PM.Follow me on Twitter@DrewGarrisonSBNComment
