I thought they were supposed to. Not mad that they didn't though.

          Josh Smith demands a trade

Even as Josh Smith is having a strong season for the Hawks he has let the team know he wants to be traded as the March 15 deadline approaches, according to people with knowledge of Smith’s thinking.

And the reasons for Smith’s dissatisfaction with the team now have to make the Hawks wonder if they will be able to sign him to a contract extension next season.

By the end of last season Smith wanted out of Atlanta because he believed he was singled out for unfair criticism by coaches and media. Those concerns have died down for the most part this season but now Smith believes he needs a fresh start with a franchise where he can better reach his potential on and off the court, according to one of the people with knowledge of Smith’s thinking.

The person said one of Smith’s complaints is that he believes the Hawks didn’t do enough to promote him for selection to the All-Star team, which he thinks contributed to lesser players being voted to the team by Eastern Conference coaches...read more

That he does with the Hawks being a middling contender and overall dysfunctional franchise. He's been blamed for I don't even know how long and I didn't think it was feasible for them to resign him after what they gave to Johnson and looking up Horford.

If that's true then he's a knucklehead. Smh. Worrying about the wrong freakin things, but I wouldn't be at all surpised if it was true.

Classic case of do not want [Smith, Johnson, Marvin Williams]

If I were a big man looking to reach my potential on the court (as he says he is), Kobe Bryant (this season) is the last player I'd want to play with.

                        Na to be completely honest.

The Lakers have minimal perimeter shooting as it is, they'd take too big of a hit with Gasol's range gone. Kirk to me is about as valuable as Steve Blake.

I want Josh Smith pretty badly but if one of his issues is being promoted for the All-Star game, that gives me pause.

Frye, Dudley, and a pick for Smith. You know you want to!

**dreams of Gortat and Smith in the same frontcourt**

Then sign Eric Gordon in the offseason. Nash/Gordon/Hill/Smith/Gortat.

                          Delicious.

Screw that noise. Daryl Morey get him in Houston. He'd look good in red.

I'd take Josh Smith so long as he wouldn't be one of the "feature" players on my team. He'd have to be the 3rd/4th option at best.

I'd love to see him on a team like Denver but I highly doubt Denver would want to break up what they have going right now, for a guy that is demanding a trade in part because of All-Star snubs no less.
