That's $8 million that Mark Cuban can wipe his butt with..

    Come on bro...

Yeah you could have brought someone else in... but obviously hindsight is 20/20. Most of the time you're gonna take your chances with bringing in Odom and his issues... more times than not.

Yeah and it gives dallas money in the off season and a trade piece, Dallas is going to pull off something big IMO.

I'm just glad that Lamar's time is up in Dallas. This has gone on for far too long this season. No more questions about Lamar directed at Carlisle, the players, Cuban, etc. Now the team can just focus on who is in the locker room and try and move on from this mess. Looks like they are already playing themselves out of contention though.

The dude just never looked into it at all this year and I understand that he has had personal issues to battle through but why keep playing if you are doubting yourself? Roddy B lost his father this year and missed time but came back and is battling through it. I'm sure he is still struggling with his loss but is trying to find a way to recover. At least Roddy looks engaged in the game. Odom just didn't seem to care. Just come in for a few minutes, deflate the team, and walk back to the bench with a smirk on his face. Take some time off and get your head right.

I definitely understand the disappointment and perhaps even anger towards Odom, but to hate him or scorn him... that's just sad.

Lamar is done sabotaging the team. It's about time.

btw, anyone hear the rumor from "mediatakeout.com" that Lamar got into an altercation with Dirk in the locker room after the Griz game.

April 10, 2012: MediaTakeOut.com just got wind of an EXPLOSIVE RUMOR - from one of the girlfriends of a Dallas Mavericks player. Word is that on Saturday night, after the Mavericks LOST to the Memphis Grizzlies Dallas superstar DIRK NOWITZKI and LAMAR ODOM got into an altercation.

Word in the locker room is that Dirk was unhappy with Lamar's lack of focus and he confronted him, and when Lamar challenged Dirk back - it WAS ON. And get this . . . we hear that Dirk was GETTING THE BETTER of Lamar before teammates broke it up.

And this is the guy Dell Demps thought was worth being a part of a deal that sent the franchise greatest player out of town.

I feel so dirty being this in debt to David Stern.

DALLAS – One of the issues that pushed the Mavericks to part ways with Lamar Odom was his habitual tardiness, according to a team source.

Odom was late to meetings, practices and shootarounds throughout the season, the source said. That included the morning meeting in Memphis before Saturday’s loss, Odom’s final game with the Mavericks.

When Odom was not late, he often arrived at the last minute despite living in a condominium at the W Hotel, which is across the street from the American Airlines Center. For example, he was seen walking to the locker room from the players’ entrance at 5:59 p.m. before Friday night’s home game against the Trail Blazers, well after the rest of the Mavericks had arrived and begun preparations to play Portland.

The breaking point with Odom occurred during a heated halftime exchange with owner Mark Cuban during Saturday night’s loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, according to sources. The sources said Cuban asked whether Odom, whose effort has an issue all season, was “in or out.”

Odom reacted angrily, according to sources, and reached the “mutual decision” with the Mavs the next day that he was out.

One source said Odom’s teammates and the coaching staff were surprised when he rejoined the team on the bench in the second half. Odom was a few minutes late, one last time as a Maverick.

Well one of the arguments is against people saying that he was unmotivated and lazy and gave no effort in Dallas. But just being late for things...come on man.
