Something to consider is that if this trade goes through, NO will likely have what, 2 top 5 picks next year? That's amazing, and they could probably turn it into the #1 overall pick if they wanted.

It does make some sense IMO. NO's gets two lottery picks and they still get some decent young talent in Bledsoe.

Overall idk, Paul for a lottery pick and some boderline decent talent and a center you're just going to dump at the end of the year. Clippers don't give up their best or second best player. Overall it just seems blah.
I didn't know until now it was Minny's 1st rounder and it's unprotected. That's pretty interesting if Minnesota continues to be Minnesota. Like I said, I still don't see how this trade can get done without Gordon being involved, but as a fan I'd rather see Gordon still be there if they do get Paul.

I guess it is more of a wash comparing both trades than I thought it was at first glance. This does give the Hornets a lot more flexibility than the previous deal and two decent young second year players to help build their team. Although flexibility means nothing if you don't use it properly (looking at you, Detroit in 2009).

I just want this to all be done with. Tired of "sources say this, sources say that" and all that other BS.

yeah i agree with those that think the possible lottery picks in for all intents and purposes deep draft and expiring money off the books is better than being stuck in mid round pick hell with a bunch of mid to high money contracts on the books kind of hamstringing NO for a bit.

The best PG in the game for a top 10 pick, a backup PG and a backup SF and a salary dump.

That's essentially what it is. Even though it may be better than being middle of the pack, something about the trade just doesn't sit right with me.

But hey, we've seen some bizarre trades recently.

I guess considering CP3 is still in his prime, and that he is the top dog at his position... getting that much back for him seems meh to me.

This trade is somehow worse than the Lakers giving up two (good to great) players, getting by far the best player involved in the deal, AND clearing capspace while saddling an NBA OWNED team with 15-20 million dollars so that they could also get Dwight? And if they're not gonna shuffle their cap issues onto NOH then they're gonna get back Paul and Okafor who's a pretty good player in his own right? Cmon now. The Rockets are getting jacked too, but that's their problem. I don't like interfering in trades, but the NBA owners made the best move for them. Just wish they didn't talk about quality of deal for NOH. Because that wasn't an (or the biggest) issue.

At least this way, the Hornets would have two lotto picks, a solid young PG, a good SF prospects who was a high pick in his own right, and a solid starting C who's an expiring this year. Money is an issue.

            Sell the damn team!

              Chris Paul
              Eric Gordon

              Blake Griffin

I wouldn't put money on third seed.

I say Dallas, OKC, Memphis... LAL will probably be there
I would say Clippers will be in the bottom 4, while still figuring out roles. The four teams I mentioned above already have their cores together and roles established. If they don't make the playoffs though...

Watch Paul's knee instantly turn on him and his career get ruined.

                All because it's the Clippers.

                  Not cool

CP3 ooops to Blake/Jordan will probably make for some of the best highlights of next year.

Hopefully Caron doesn't go into ball stopper/black hole mode and moves the damn ball around. Gordon/CP3 should be doing all the creating and Caron should just wait in the wings and concentrate on defending.

If you hated Blake Griffin dominating Sportscenter before, you ain't seen nothing yet. He's gonna be on Tim Tebow's heels on the overexposed scale there at the Worldwide Leader. It'll be fun to look at the first two times you see it though.

As long as his ego is kept in check. Dude slowly grew into a big-time punk last year. Had discussions about this multiple times here, lol. I want to root for him but if he's going to continue down that path, then.. well, it'll be difficult.

The Clippers and the New Orleans Hornets were working vigorously Sunday night to consummate a blockbuster deal that would send All-Star point guard Chris Paul to Los Angeles to play for the Lakers' cross-town rivals, said two people with knowledge of the situation who were not authorized to speak on the matter. The deal hasn't been completed, but both sides were in the closing stages of the negotiations. Los Angeles Times

The Clippers would send the Hornets center Chris Kaman, backup second-year guard Eric Bledsoe, second-year forward Al-Farouq Aminu and the No. 1 draft pick they got from the Minnesota Timberwolves that is unprotected in the 2012 draft, considered to be one of the best in recent years. Clippers owner Donald Sterling and the NBA have to sign off on the deal. A package from the Lakers for Paul was turned down by the league. The NBA will probably review the Clippers deal Monday.
                            Per LA Times via Hoopshype.

FWIW, no mention of Gordon. If they keep Gordon and get Paul, they will be, potentially, the most exciting team in basketball.

Ignoring the fact that it's Mr. Sources Say, what does it matter if Bledsoe is in the deal if Gordon is already in it? This is like little kids trading Pokemon cards for ****sakes.

WTF. No way should the Clippers do that deal. They would go from an possible 8-9 seed to a straight lottery team. The deal mentioned earlier in the thread was pretty good for both teams. This one, not so much. The NBA is not letting CP3 leave New Orleans.
