Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
I love it how Minnesota got rid of Flynn because they have too many PG's, then they waste money on JJ Berea.
They will never win a damn thing with Kahn in charge.Too Old To Game Club
Urban Meyer is lol.Comment

Anyone read that article about Kobe being pissed about the Odom trade? Dude seriously sound like the Kobe that wanted to get traded a few years ago (to the Bulls I think). But just really unhappy. I really wonder what was said to Odom during that meeting with the GM.
edit: Picks are not what the Lakers need. They need "now moves".Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
The Clippers would send center Chris Kaman, guard Eric Bledsoe, forward Al-Farouq Aminu and the No. 1 draft pick to get the All-Star point guard, in deal said to be in the closing stages of talks.
That's a fair deal, and very close to the one I proposed earlier (I added Willie Warren as well). This gives NO cap relief, two good young prospects at PG and SF, and almost guarantees them TWO lottery picks in what is considered the deepest draft in years.
Let's look at the scenario and why this is a better deal than any others previously offered:
With the two picks, let's say the Hornets get any 2 of the following:
PF A. Davis
C A. Drummond
PF P. Jones
SF H. Barnes
PF J. Sullinger
PF J. Henson
SF T. Jones
SG J. Lamb
SG A. Rivers
PF T. Robinson
Are you serious? That's amazing. You'd have Bledsoe, Aminu, Quincy Poindexter, DaJuan Summers, Trevor Ariza, Justin Dentmon, Jerome Dyson, and Terrico White to build around. Now add any of those big men or even two of them. That sets the Hornets up to be one of the most exciting young teams in the NBA and makes them much more attractive to potential buyers IMO.
As for the draft (you forgot Kidd-Gilchrist), it would be great if both of those picks are top 10 (and one top 5) but you are still taking a chance on rookies instead of proven talent. I still think its BS if the Clips arent forced to throw in Gordon. Gordon at least gives them proven NBA talent and a bonafide star to build around.Comment

The Timberwolves are finalizing a four-year deal for J.J. Barea.
ESPN's Marc Stein reports the deal is valued at $19 million.
While David Kahn has been known to collect point guards, Ricky Rubio and Luke Ridnour are the only ones currently on Minnesota's roster. Jonny Flynn was moved to the Rockets on last June's draft night.

Still a crap shoot imo. Out of the list of players they currently have none of them is projected to be a star. A whole lot of potential but no guarantees. Also, this team will suck this year which is great for lottery purposes but sucks for the 10,000 fans who bought season tickets with the expectation that either Paul or equivalent talent would be playing for the Hornets.

The purchasing of season tickets was moreso to make sure they didnt break the lease which would allow them to move the team. Kinda just gotta buy the tickets and hope for the best which was a bad position to be in.
The league leveraged it wellEricmaynor3.com

But they have the opportunity to DRAFT star potential. Jeremy Lamb is one example, and that dude has been BALLIN this year. But this list:
Anthony Davis
Andre Drummond
Harrison Barnes
Jared Sullinger
Perry Jones
Quincy Miller
Brad Beal, etc..
The talent there is undeniable. And no doubt, they'll have at least two lottery picks.Comment

If you ask me Gordon needs to be included or its just another veto. Bledsoe Aminu and an expiring Kaman? Uhhhh.....

What I would guess is that they're gonna make a run at Deron Williams next year. He is from Dallas, and their chances would increase if Dwight doesn't go to the Nets.Comment
