That would be crazy. I'm sure Stoudemire loves that rumor /sarcasm.

Chandler thrown in to compensate for Hedo's contract? Then what?

I don't see Dwight signing there unless they pulled a miracle and was able to get a real PG and even then I don't see it being likely. I really don't understand what the Knicks are thinking here and exactly they are trying to accomplish. Let's say they pull a Amare and Tyson for Hedo and Dwight deal does it really make them better. They have no PG to get him the ball and he would be surrounded by an even worse defense than he had with the Magic. Plus what kind of message would that send to the players around the league. They would be trading the two biggest signings they have had in a long time in within a year and a half. I mean they just signed Amare before last season to be the building block and then trade him after one season. I don't think players would be too quick to sign there if they are turning over their biggest signings that fast. Hell Tyson has been there less than a month lol.

There's one person they could look to move and I'll give you a hint as to who I'm talking about: He doesn't wear a Knick Uniform on the floor.

But yeah, the parallels between this and the MeloDrama is amazing because it's exactly the SAMETHING.

I completely agree with you ProfessaPackMan. And it's quite frustrating always hearing the same thing over and over again, I'm not sure what to believe anymore, Dwight doesn't make up his mind and doesn't talk sense every time they interview him, he doesn't even know what he wants to do.

Just give me some basketball and I'll be happy!

After this trade goes through, we will look into dealing Mike Bibby, Tony Douglas, and Melo for D. Wade and LeBron. Then finally, Jared Jeffries for Chris Paul.

                  Ray Allen Q&A with CSNWashington:

On what to make of an historically losing franchise now undergoing a major roster shift toward youth:
"When you have a lot of young players, you feel like you have to do a lot of teaching. Where this organization was four or five years ago, it was a lot of young players . Then trades were made, veteran players were brought in who know how to play. Then you didn’t have to teach, you could focus on putting a group of guys together that knew how to play the game and put them in position to help win games. If you get key trades in and get guys you want then it does turn your franchise around.<O></O>
On John Wall, the face of the Wizards franchise. If he began playing closer to the level of say [Celtics point guard] Rajon Rondo, would players then look at this situation in D.C. differently?<O></O>
Yeah, but it’s not just him. It’s the other guys around him that make Wall look good. The guys that comes in and comes to work every day and you can appreciate on your team. It’s never just one guy, it’s how well you play together as a team.
Wall’s young, it’s his second year in the league. Having a guy like Rashard Lewis on the squad helps, but you need more than just Rashard Lewis. You have to have 2-3 guys like that have their feet firmly planted on the ground that know how to practice the right way, know how to get the young guys ready the right way. Those guys can play and teach so you can see it, then you see [the franchise] go through change.
On if the Wizards roster had the veterans as they did a few years ago, would that put the city on par with some of the prominent locations in the league
From the outside looking in, it seems like they have all they have everything they need to compete. The weather is not over the top cold, it’s pretty mild so you’re not dealing with extreme temperatures where you can’t live. Most guys have families that you take into account, putting them in situations where they’re going to live. With all things considered, it seems like you have an ideal situation. The city would be a good place to grow, to live to have their families and definitely to win.

Its funny because Brendan Wright has played all of like 5 minutes so far.

And yeah, Yi is gonna spend some time in the D-league to get used to playing at full speed again. Mavs sent Sean Williams back down there after playing in garbage time against the Nuggets and playing well and playing alright in tiny minutes against the Thunder. I'm thinking they might try to bring them both back up at once to have some chemistry with the two of them.

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)

Man, it sure is a tragedy watching two-time NBA MVP Steve Nash wasting away on the also-ran Phoenix Suns. That has been the international consensus from everyone for the last year or so -- everyone except Nash and the Suns, apparently.

ESPN.com reports that the 37-year-old Nash, who has had his name in trade rumors for years, refuses to request a trade from the Suns.
"One, it's not my style. Maybe I'm old school, but I feel like that's not my place to give up on my team, give up on my teammates. I signed a contract and made a commitment. "And two, I don't feel it's like choosing a restaurant. It's got to be a situation that works for two teams. And I don't know how simple that is. But before we even get to that part of it, I just feel that I owe it to my teammates to stay committed to them. I feel that I owe it to the fans and the organization to fight."

Nash is adamant: He will not go to his bosses and ask to be traded. The Suns likewise haven't budged: They insist they will not trade Nash unless he comes to them and says he can't bear another day detached from relevance.
The Suns are just 2-4 on the young season and are almost certainly headed for the NBA Draft Lottery. Nash's numbers through six games -- 11.5 points, 8.7 assists -- are way down, although he's been dealing with a bruised rib. It's been more than a decade since his numbers have been at those levels and he's currently shooting a career-low 42.2 percent from the field.

Certainly, there's the school of thought that says it's in the best interests of basketball for Nash to hook on to a contending team, a veteran, savvy, playoff-tested point guard who can potentially push a team over the top before he hits free agency next summer.

On the flipside, there's a noble beauty that comes with playing the tragic hero, and the desire to want out of a situation can only come within. One of the league's most respected and trusted floor generals, Nash is calling these shots too.

It's also possible that Nash has now passed the "checkout" point of his Suns tenure. At some point over the last few years, as owner Robert Sarver turned over the roster time and again and allowed All-Star forward Amar'e Stoudemire to leave for New York, there must have been a moment when Nash seriously contemplated leaving the desert. That flight reflex would be natural and human. At his age and with the end of his contract approaching, though, it doesn't take a psychologist (amateur or otherwise) to realize that the pressure to stick it out and leave Phoenix and its fanbase with his head held high, knowing he gave them every possible chance to turn his talent into wins, has increased dramatically.

The only problem with that: his clock is still ticking and he's passed the 1,000 games mark. If there's going to be a meaningful post-Suns chapter in Nash's NBA career, it needs to begin sooner rather than later. Here's hoping that team and player -- who are both reportedly too steadfast and respectful to make the first move -- realize what's at stake over the next two months and get a deal done prior to the deadline.

Jeff Green will be an unrestricted FA when he comes back from surgery:

That's because the Boston Celtics, in a move that was not made public, withdrew Green's qualifying offer in mid-December, right around the time he failed his physical and had his one-year, $9 million contract voided. The move means Green is now an unrestricted free agent. Had the offer not been withdrawn, and the Celtics were under no obligation whatsoever to do so, Green would have been a restricted free agent, with the Celtics able to match any offer he might get from another team.

Jerry Sloan might make a return back to Coaching:

So as the 69-year-old answers questions about whether he might leave retirement behind and return to the job that he loved for nearly three decades, you get the sense he’s resisting the urge to make some formal announcement of his desires.
“I think if the right situation came along, whatever that is,” he said before pausing to ponder. “I don’t know what the right situation is. We’ll have to wait and see, I guess.

President Barack Obama is beginning the week by hosting the NBA champion Mavericks. But Delonte West, signed by the Mavs before this season, will not be able to join the team because of a criminal record that did not pass a background check.
