Honest question, how is this at all any good for New Jersey.

Gerald Wallace is in the last years of his career, and NJ still gave up a first rounder regardless of the protection.

If Gerald stays, he's old as ****.
If he goes, NJ gets cap space but lose out on that first rounder.

Might as well have kept Okur who is expiring at the end of the year and hold onto your draft picks for loaded drafts to come.

If Nate gets let go he'll be back next season and will have a lot of options.

As far as the Butler/Allen dilemma, it doesn't matter because in order for a trade like this to happen it has to include Korver and Hamilton for financial purposes.

2 cripples(one of which who probably won't at all this year) and a protected 1st rd pick that we would only get if the Rockets make the playoffs for Gerald Wallace and his expiring contract. Sooooo why exactly should we slap ourselves again? LOL

You do know we still have our OWN first rd pick right?

So why exactly would you be shocked again?

New Jersey knows that if they don't improve Williams will leave in the offseason. So they are trying to add talent in an effort to pleasde him and convince him to stay. If the pick is lottrey protected, then they will likely keep the pick this year.

If this was the Rockets pick for Wallace then the Nets got a steal.

I'm not saying I agree with it, but I understand what they are trying to do.

Not suggesting the blame should be placed on Nate, just sounded llike earlier there was a chance they'd flip one or the other. But if they're gonna blow this up, guess one would figure he stays ... see how much they can move.

We have 4 first round picks this year. All besides the Nets own are at least top 7 protected. Houston's is top 14 protected, the ones from GSW and Utah are the top 7 protected picks.

3 players for Ray Allen, and you wouldn't think twice?

You should keep all 4 bro. The drafts are going to be ripe...

No need to take on Wallace for no reason at all... he's not going to help you out one bit.

Just let Okur walk away and get his cap space.

Williams doesn't get paid that much at all.
