According to this they will have about 13M. This has been accurate very time I've used it.

      Chris Mannix ‏ @ChrisMannixSI

Nets already trying to regroup. Two names on the radar this offseason: Kevin Garnett and Ryan Anderson.

        Exactly.

It gives them flexibility in the FUTURE(I know people HATE waiting for the future)which is something they didn't have with Nene still there.

Unless they plan on being the Atlanta Hawks of the West where just competing just to get IN the playoffs for the next 3-4 years like they have and we kill the mess out of them for that.

BUT would Howard been eligible for 'Bird rights'? I thought they made some changes to that on traded players? I might be wrong. Because if he's not eligible for Bird rights, he wouldn't get as much nor have as long of a contract as the Magic would have given him compared to what the Nets offered.

As far as Denver's cap flexibility, also add in the possibility of using the amnesty clause on Al Harrington.

The thing is, they have role players. Affalo, Fernandez, Brewer, Harrington, Faried, Mozgov, Andersen. They've got plenty of depth. They have no need for more role players.

Good point, I didn't think of that. If they amnesty Harrington then it going to be about 16-21M of cap room without Wilson Chandler. That's a lot better than I first thought it would be.

Why is this so hard to understand? If the Bobcats have more cap space than the Lakers and can offer a guy 3 years and $35 million while the Lakers can only offer 2 years and $10 million, the guy is probably going to go to the Bobcats.

Yep. After looking it up, Bird rights do transfer. I could have sworn there was something done to that rule.
