Can we please stop using the fans to support this because it's already proven that NBA Fans aren't the brightest bunch when it comes to the 4 major sports.

How about this: He is the greatest 12th man of all time and that's a proud accomplishment to have.

How can we disregard the fans in a discussion about why the fans cheer for a guy?

Also, sorry for not realizing the same discussion was going on in the player movement thread lol

Personally, my thoughts on the 12th man spot being occupied by Scal or a player with more athleticism: If you have an athletic guy in your 12th man role he'll be riding the bench, he probably needs to work on the rest of his game or he wouldn't be a 12th man. Guys like that need to be in the NBDL, not rotting away at the end of the bench. In this regard, if you can add an "intangibles" guy that can help the team without even playing, I say go for Scal.

Well said. The Mavs could have Sean Williams rotting on the end of their bench sitting behind Haywood, Mahinmi and Brandan Wright, but they don't, they send him to the D-League when all of them are healthy and they keep Cardinal up. Does Cardinal need to be up? Not really, he's the third string power forward behind Dirk and Odom and Yi could probably take his minutes and nothing would change but they don't do that.

I didn't know Tyreke was relegated to coming off the bench now. That's crazy. I guess Keith Smart isn't too happy with him these days.

People have been talking about fixing flopping in the NBA for much of my adult life, and it generally goes like this: Somebody ought to watch that video, after the game and then punish the heck out of those floppers.

Thoughts? That's actually a pretty decent idea and something that could probably work out. All I know is the flopping in the NBA has gotten absolutely ridiculous and SOMETHING has to be done about it.

Thing is, do FIBA league players flop as much as NBA players do now?

                            Makes me wonder

Anybody see the Chris Mullins jersey retirement ceremony? Warriors fans let the owner have it BIG TIME over Ellis trade. They booed the dog snot outta him. It was embarrassing even if you weren't the guy being embarrassed. It got ugly.

Mullins had to step in to quiet the crowd. Worked for a little bit but I guess after Mullins stopped talking they went right back at it then Rick Barry had to get involved. It was a HUGE mess.

All of this could be cured with a coaches challenge system.

Give them 2 challenges a game. Coach says "I think he flopped, go check it out." or "I don't think that was a travel, go check it out."

Refs go check it out. Punishment/ruling is given, thats it.
