That article is from friggin 83 by Tony Kornheiser in SI, he (Barry) hasn't changed much since then. That's how people can boo that douche.
          Touche lol

Regardless, they were there to honor their contribution to the franchise as a player, not to celebrate their characters.

I realize it was Mullin's night, but boo the owner, not players that have contributed to the rich history of your team.

Lacob shouldn't be booed for the past though. Idk? Not worth booing for MONTA during Mullin ceremony.

They didn't boo the players for being the players, the booed the players for sticking up for the owner.

                That is what I saw.

I like what the players did though. If it wasn't for that, the owner could have said some things that he'd probably regret in the future

I know what they were doing, but you don't do it.

What are they supposed to say, "YEAH BOO HIM, LACOB IS TRASH!"

I don't know how they stack up statistically but I prefer the Celtics/Lakers comeback in 08.....

I really want to know how Telfair would have been had he gone and played for Pitino @ Louiseville. What do you all think?

I love how he passes the ball but since he was so hyped, he almost has that Darko effect. Anything he does well will be downplayed since he isn't what he was supposed to be

As far as the fans, I don't support them but I understand. Monta had a deep effect on that entire city, he was more influential than I think most people think.

When else could fans really overtly voice their displeasure directly to the owner? They're not just gonna stop buying tickets to boycott the team, they're too loyal for that.

Writing letters, phone calls? Meh, not really effective.

I thought it was just a perfect storm for the boos.
Pretty much this. Plus, Lacob put himself in a bad position by even speaking at that. If I remember correctly, a guy on the radio was saying that Owners don't normally speak at those kind of ceremonies just for that sort of reason. I know Jerry Reinsdorf didn't speak at the celebration of the Bulls first title last year and I don't recall him speaking at either Scottie or Michael's jersey retirements.

Damn shame about his injuries man. Dude would be still be in the top 3 two guards in the league right now if it wasn't for his knees.
