Okay that makes sense now lol. Still not a good look for your statue of a basketball player to be rocking a damn cap though haha.

In the other topic, I don't want to approve of going on another man's show and embarrassing him, but I love Jalen

DALLAS -- Delonte West forgot all about his surgically repaired right ring finger as he blew by his man and threw down a two-hand dunk with a little more than three minutes remaining in the Mavs' 110-100 win over the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday.

“Pain is a hell of a reminder,” West said.

But pain isn’t necessarily a deterrent, at least not to a competitor like West.

West, who missed 21 games after his gruesomely broken bone popped out of the skin on Feb. 15, clutched his right hand frequently for the rest of the game and admitted afterward that the pain was pretty intense. However, the lefty guard said he won’t hesitate to dunk with both hands again if he thinks that’s the right play to make.

“Not at all, man,” said West, who scored 13 points on 5-of-10 shooting in 21 minutes. “Go hard or go home, man. These type of games, every possession is important. You’ve got to go to the basket strong.”

Coach Rick Carlisle acknowledged that he cringed when West went up with both hands. Carlisle mentioned to West that it might not be wise to have his right hand crashing into the rim, but he was quickly interrupted by Jason Terry, who pointed out that West only knows one way to play.

Carlisle realized immediately that Terry was right about West, whose toughness and intensity are primary reasons that he’s a key role player for the Mavs.

“The only way he knows how to go is all out,” Carlisle said. “That’s who he is. If we try to take that away from him, even with a busted hand, he’s not going to be the same player.”
                  Delonte West is a badass.

Skip just totally contradicted himself. He was talking about how people have succeeded who have not played sports. Well Skippy if you believed that then why would you lie about your sorry high school career? Obviously you thought your opinion would hold more weight if you were some good basketball player.

Framing The Nets' Dumb Gerald Wallace Trade
by Tom Ziller • Apr 11, 2012 10:01 AM EDT

Our friends at NetsDaily have a wholly accurate framing of the trade that sent New Jersey's protected lottery pick to the Blazers for Gerald Wallace. On paper, the pick is protected in the top three. In reality, because teams that finish with, say, the seventh worst record in the league cannot end up with the No. 4, No. 5 or No. 6 pick, the Nets' selection is really protected through No. 6.

Again, it's an accurate way to depict the fate of the pick: the Blazers won't get a pick if it lands in the (x-1) spot, where x represents the Nets' spot in the reverse standings. That allows advocates to push up the "protected through" number.

But it was still a bad, bad trade.

Right now, the Nets are in line to finish with the seventh worst record, which under this logic protects the pick through No. 6. But only 1.5 games separate the Nets and the No. 4 Sacramento Kings. With two weeks left, there's plenty of time for New Jersey to get worse and a couple of the teams "ahead" of it in the lotto race to pick up cheap wins. (The New Orleans Hornets are becoming quite adept at picking up cheap wins.)

So when you use this logic to downplay the awfulness of the trade, you leave it open to fluctuation. If the Nets do happen to land back at No. 4, then you're back to being top-3 protected. If you are now arguing that "protected through six" isn't so bad ... you're not going to be able to maintain that nonchalance when that becomes "protected through three" or even "protected through four."

There's also the issue that a prospect picked at No. 7, No. 8, No. 9 or No. 10 in this draft has a tremendous possibility of being much, much more productive and cost-effective than a limited term Gerald Wallace. That's the real core of the issue here. Whether it's No. 4 or No. 7, chances are that it will not have been worth it.

One of the casualties of last fall's NBA lockout was the cancellation of the annual summer league in Las Vegas. But with a new collective bargaining agreement in place, the NBA will be back at Cox Pavilion and the Thomas & Mack Center from July 13 through July 22, with 23 teams expected to participate.

                            Via Orlando Sentinel
After a year off due to the NBA lockout, the Orlando Magic tentatively plan to host their annual summer league July 9-13. The exhibition games will be held on the Amway Center practice court. As usual, the event will be closed to the public.

                              Re: NBA Off Topic

If he wants to say the Nets were stupid for not protecting it thru the Top 7 or whatever, then I'd agree but...

And there's also a tremendous possibility of that player we take at those 4 spots flames out and doesn't make any impact at all. I hated it at the time(not the trade but moreso the protections)but I'm not going to say it was a bad trade unless Wallace AND Williams both bounce and the pick is not Top 3. But if they both stay, it'll still be a move which you won't be able to say it was a good/bad deal right away.

                              EDIT:

Right now, the Nets have the 7th worst record.

Only the top 3 picks are drawn in the lottery, and the rest fall into place in order of teams' regular season record.

So, if the Nets don't get one of the top 3, it's impossible under any circumstances for the Blazers to get #4, #5, or #6.

Best case for the Blazers, only teams with worse records get the top three picks and the Blazers get #7. Worst case, three teams with better records get the top 3 picks (jump ahead of them) and the Blazers get #10.

So, the only current possibilities are #1, #2, #3 for the Nets; #7, #8, #9 and #10 for the Blazers.

If the Nets pass Detroit and Golden State in the standings, they'll have the 9th worst record and the pick will essentially be protected #1 - #8. Only possibilities would be #1, #2, #3 for the Nets; #9, #10, #11 and #12 for the Blazers

Bottom line, Wherever you are in the lottery, you have only three possibilities:
                              1. Move up to #1, #2 or #3.
                              2. Stay where you are.
                              3. Move down one, two or three spots.
