Would you consider it a flop if someone took a charge and simply fell backwards when the offensive player runs into him?

Because it's no longer possible to take a charge while standing your ground. You either have to fall or get called for a blocking foul. Much like Battier said.

However the "I'm about to get Deebo'ed in the post so I'm a flop" nonsense has to go

Yea, that's part I really wonder about.

But a co-worker brought up something to me. Is fining the players after the games going to stop the players from flopping in the game. A great example he brought up was in soccer. A player could get a yellow card for flopping. But yellow cards effect the game. And they carry over to the next game. So 2 yellow cards means you miss a game. While a player in the NBA finals (or playoffs). I could do whatever it takes to win. But basically he thought it should be more in game than after the game.

But what could be done in game to prevent players from doing it again? A technical foul?

It would have to be something more drastic IMO, like miss the next 5:00 minutes of play and a total of 2 flops (either in one game or consecutive games) would mean an ejection or a 1 game suspension.

Watched some of the Hornets camp on NBATV today, it's crazy to see Monty Williams up in drills playing D in the post on Lopez and giving all out effort.

2.5 hour part on behind the scenes of their camp if anyone is interested again at 4:30 pm est
