Re: NBA Off Topic
Seems like that Grantland article is picking up steam. Watching the video again is pure joy. I'm sorry to say.
Man reading that again, that was a mighty disgusting situation right there
I know people can blame what they will, but the point is, you dont go in the stands... the one thing in pro sports that you never do
Fouls happen, hard fouls, trash talk, but never go into the stands and go at the people paying your salary
One man's actions put all of those people in danger
Ben Wallace was inciting the crowd and the situation. I don't blame him more than anyone else, but for you to say Ron caused it. That's just flat out wrong. Wallace was treating the situation like a WWF event. I wish he would have gotten slapped in the face for acting like an idiot as well.
I absolutely love those idiot fans on the court who got KO'd. I sadly wish they would have gotten more hurt.
The people who thought they were being cool by throwing cups and food at the players/coaches.. I wish they could have gotten beat up as well.Comment

There really isn't an argument, except I was saying you seemed to be placing the full blame on one man. When the entire arena acted disgracefully. You make it seem easy to not go into the stands. I say there's a lot of athletes who might have done the same thing. It was wrong but I don't judge Ron because I might have done the same thing.

Wallace overreacted but that still didn't cause Ron to go into the stands, period and point blank
I said what Ron did put others in Danger and he did and there is nothing you can do to convince me otherwise because its just the truth
The fan on the court had JO not slipped would've died as simple as that... it was ignorant of them to jump out there and challenge a guy that big knowing they had zero advantage or defense
The guy who is stained in this entire thing though it Artest because of how far he took it, and thats just unfortunate for him, changing your name doesn't seperate you from those thingsComment

Re: NBA Off Topic
I watched it when it first happened and I still imagine what would've happened to old dude if O'Neal never slipped while he was about knock his head off. That guy was very, very lucky he slipped up on that liquid on the floor otherwise.....#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: NBA Off Topic
Kinda like it says in the article, lot of things had to line up.
The more I look at it, Ron laying on the table to me was the catalyst.Follow me on Twitter@DrewGarrisonSBNComment

It was too clean of an angle and nothing stopping the force from taking him out
That save was like a warning for his life he needs to sit down somewhereComment

Re: NBA Off Topic
I'm glad Ron retailiated.
He reminded every single one of those dumb idiots that basketball players are about 6-10 inches taller than you and have about 60- 80 pounds on you.
Those are big dudes.
The guy who threw the beer went from spectator to participant in an instant. IMO you lose all rights as a fan once you throw a projectile onto the court. The only reason he even did that was because he didn't know Ron was crazy, and he thought he would get protected because he's a fan.
I only wish the right guy had been hit (the one who threw the beer).
Edit:
Should Ron had laid there on the table? Naw, but it doesn't give the fan the right to throw anything at him either.Last edited by DukeC; 03-01-2012, 02:00 PM.Comment

Re: NBA Off Topic
The catalyst was Ben Wallace not being able to let a borderline flagrant foul go.
Instead you see him going Hulk out there for no apparent reason.
Ron was an idiot for laying there, but how can you say that was the catalyst? He was laying down surrounded by coaches, not threatening anyone. Come on. Haha.
You should never go into the stands, but fans should never throw anything at a player. Once one of those rules is broken, you can bet the other will be broken shortly after. Simple science.
BTW, funny how the Portland/Golden State game is hardly ever talked about.Comment
