Re: Are the La lakers done??

The Lakers will be the surprise team because everyone is counting them out. I really think they are going to challenge for a title. Really.

Kobe looks fresh. Mike Brown has brought a completely different system and it's really refreshing. The Lakers now play defense and it shows already. They also great revamped their roster but nobody knows it. Suddenly they're filled with intelligent hustle players and shooters -- something that was absent from the Phil Jackson era.

Had Chicago not been gifted a win the first game, the Lakers would be 3-1, getting Bynum back and everyone would be saying they are legit contenders.

Watching the Lakers this year has actually been quite refreshing so far. Getting rid of the tedious triangle has allowed players to stop thinking and play more naturally and instinctually. They really do look like a different team -- and for the better.

I can't believe I'm saying this but Mike Brown has really impressed me so far.

I still think they have a shot at winning a title, the deciding factor being their health and Mike Brown.

If their team is healthy by the start of the playoffs and can stay healthy, they have a good chance just like any contending team in the West. People are really under estimating Mike Brown, look at how much success he had in Cleveland.

I know he had one of the best players in Lebron, but his defense had a lot to do with our success(just look at our 2007 NBA Finals Roster). He gets his player to play defense and believe in the system and plays to their strengths. He took a lineup with an aging Shaq and maybe two of the worst defenders in Jamison and Mo in 2010 and still had the team playing great defense.

Give Brown Kobe, two 7 footers in Gasol and Bynum, Barnes, Blake, and World Peace, along with a decent bench, I dont think Lakers fans have anything to worry about. If LA gets Howard without having to give up both Bynum and Gasol, that just increases their chances of getting to the finals.

I don't think they'll win a championship this year without getting a better PG. They still have my pick for 3 seed in the Playoffs though. I just don't see them getting past the Thunder or the Spurs this year.

Nobody really knows though as we've never seen this team without a triangle offense. Kobe is still Kobe too. Clippers are all talk so far. As Jordan said, Let Your Game Speak.
