Slept through the OKC game...are they really still starting Thabo and bringing Harden off the bench? That's ridiculous. I understood doing it the last 2 years, but Harden took a big step forward last season.

I think it's the same plan as before, bring his offense off the bench so there isn't a dropoff when the starters get a rest.

Yes, he's getting the Ginonili treatment from a few seasons ago. Thabo is a far better defender and only plays 24-30 minutes, while the offense is ran through Harden when he comes off the bench. He can play both swing positions off the bench, plus he is usually a lot better than whatever back-up - whether its a 2 or 3 - is guarding him from the opposing team.

Many people may not agree, but for chemistry and cohesion it makes sense for him to be the 6th man. Also, it doesn't matter who starts, but who finishes the game.

The GSW just fell apart the last three minutes. Got lazy on defense, didn't hit the glass, no ball movement on offense and the game is over.

Yea like I was saying, late in the game it got dull real fast. Very odd, no urgency to win or anything. Felt like a "lazy game".

I've lurked OS for the longest time and I'm just now getting into these NBA game threads. Love the commentary and insightful comments that go on in here. I'd rather read this while watching the game than listen to those 2.

And wow....GS really just took a nap in the 4th quarter. It was like they just decided to stop giving any solid effort in anything fundamental.

Yeah, that's LMFAO. They're a party group and they got a deal because their uncle or dad is well known in the industry.

Is the sexy *** broad in the Lakers jersey famous? Looks like Vanessa whatever from High School Musical....

Thankfully Chris Paul took the game over at the end. I don't think I could take Billups jacking up another horrible shot.

On another note, I think Mark Jackson will do fine as a coach. I didn't enjoy him that much as an analyst; but from watching the Winning Time 30 for 30, he strikes me as a guy that can get others motivated.

Yeah he can get it done. It'll just take some time. Hard to get an organization who has completely ignored one half of the game (defense) for so many years make it a priority all of the sudden.

Yeah and despite his catchphrases I felt like Marc understood the game a lot, coming from that announcing perspective probably helped him with the transition somewhat as now when he complains about something he can actually try to fix it lol

the only team that looked ready to play imo were the Miami Heat. everybody else looked a bit sloppy, entertaining still but sloppy. It is the first game of the season though.
