Wow, last night I was watching the Heat/Hawks game, and my wife asks me, "Who do you want to win?" I said, "I'm really not rooting for anyone, but I want this game to go 3 OT's because the Hawks have to play the Bobcats tomorrow night."
Just woke up, and saw the results.

Much love to Crash, he is still a Laker Killer.Last edited by LingeringRegime; 01-06-2012, 04:13 AM.Comment

Damn the Heat game was that good. I saw the first overtime. But didn't even see how they forced until I watched the highlights this morning. Bosh stepped up really big for them. Mario played very well in the few minutes I saw. That is the Mario that will keep his job for the whole year. If he keeps playing like that. He worked the pick and roll/pop really well last night. The best I've seen him in attack mode.
The Laker lost to the Blazers. Not surprising. What is surprising though are the Mavs can't get this boat to start moving. They are still on the Championship high. Either that or they really miss JJ Barea, Tyson Chandler and Caron Butler lolHands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: Game Discussion Thread 1/2/12 - 1/8/12
Put it this way, for the first two games, the boat was dead in the water. In the Thunder game the motor started sputtering, the Raptors and Timberwolves the motor got going then died out again in the fourth quarter of the Wolves. All of a sudden it kick started itself for number two against OKC and Phoenix and then it ran out of gas for the Spurs.
The Mavs are slowly getting it together with this team. We defintiely miss Barea and Chandler (not so much Butler, he didn't even play the entire second half of the season) but Odom is coming along, Carter is playing more unselfish than he's played in a long time, and we have these three wins without shooting the ball particularly well in any of them. I'm giving them until 12 to 15 games, if they're having these same kind of problems, I'll start to worry a bit more.NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers

According to Chicago Tribune Bulls beat writer KC Johnson, Derrick Rose will play despite nursing a sore elbow.
@KCJHoop
Remember how DRose kept saying, "I'm good" even as he struggled to dress in Detroit? He's playing Friday in Orlando. #Bulls
Is it just me or does any Bulls fan feel that Derrick should just sit this one out? As with anyone who loves basketball, and especially Bulls fans, I want to watch every minute Derrick Rose is on the court. He is probably one of the few stars today that people will pay to watch. BUT I'm thinking long term. With this brutal condensed schedule, I think it would be a good idea to rest him for a game or two so he can be healthy down the stretch. You don't want this injury lingering throughout the season. So I say, take care of it now instead of trying to deal with it while your going down the playoff stretch.
I really like what the Heat did yesterday by sitting out James and Wade. I know they took some flack by the few fans(and sponsors) in Atlanta because the game is a national televised game BUT the Heat is thinking long run. They're thinking playoff run. They're thinking championship. They didn't care about loosing to the Hawks on TNT. They want to make sure they have their two best players at full health when the playoffs start.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Than the one who comes up like an angel and is nothing but a devil. - Malcolm XComment

I find it really surprising people still don't consider Caron Butler a part of last years team. I think he was a huge part of their team early on. I don't think they started losing until Dirk went down. And Caron went the week after (or before).Put it this way, for the first two games, the boat was dead in the water. In the Thunder game the motor started sputtering, the Raptors and Timberwolves the motor got going then died out again in the fourth quarter of the Wolves. But yes your right. I would start worrying 12-20 games in.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: Game Discussion Thread 1/2/12 - 1/8/12
I understand why though at least.
He got hurt in early-mid January(2-3 months into the season)and the Mavs went on to play for 5 more months and I think you can say by the end of the first month without Butler, they had adjusted to playing without him.#RespectTheCultureComment

So how many consecutive shots did Kobe put up after he fell on his wrist trying to take the charge on Wallace? It's hilarious. Dude still doesn't get it. He gets into these random modes where he's trying to prove something by dribbling the basketball for 20 seconds and hoisting up an ill-advised/contested shot. He did that what seemed like five straight possessions after he fell on his hurt wrist.
I wish someone would Sprewell him for doing stupid **** like that. He was the sole reason they got down and never came back. Bynum was once again beasting and then they just stopped looking for him, Kobe went into weird Kobe mode.

Pretty much agree with all that. Even though I'm meeting up with friends to watch the game, I'd rather watch an L now than multiple L's in the playoffs cause of this thing lingering.According to Chicago Tribune Bulls beat writer KC Johnson, Derrick Rose will play despite nursing a sore elbow.

Are they contractually obligated to award a player of the game to the Wizards on that network? LOL! At least on Bulls telecasts someone from the other team can and has won player of the game if the Bulls lose or are losing when they award it.
