    Re: Most complete PF today

I think today, Aldridge is the most complete PF. He can shoot the mid-range, drive the lane, rebound, defend and alter shots, and can finish inside, and draw fouls and make FTs.

A few seasons back, referring to those talking about Duncan and Garnett, those two would obviously be the most all-around.

Amare can't do much of anything right now. It's sad when Tyson chandler is out performing Amare Stoudimire.

Hopefully Lin gets him back to the way he was before Melo arrived because he was fun to watch then.

As somebody pointed out in a previous thread, this is talking about most complete PF....not necessarily "the best" or "who would you rather have".
Well are we talking right now or of all time? Because I don't think there are many GM's that would take Garnett over Dirk right now.

First off, if you're going to round Amare's up to 9 you should probably take out Dirk's first season where he only averaged 3.4 rebounds because he was a completely different player in 98-99. Take that first season out and he averages 8.625, and then you consider Amare played basically center for quite a while in Phoenix and Dirk is right there with him in rebounding.

As if I don't know every single little thing about Amare Stoudemire's game.

                ...whatever, let's move on.

I'm not saying he's as great as a player Dirk is but his game is more well-rounded with post moves, better rebounding and defense. Griffin is the opposite of Dirk as in he can't shoot but his superior rebounding somewhat makes up for it. Nowitzki is a much complete player so I'll put Dirk at no. 5 and drop Griffin to 7 now that you've mentioned it.

                  6. Stoudemire
                  7. Griffin

For the record I'd take Dirk in the post over Griffin also. Griffin's potential is through the roof but I don't understand how Dirk's game is getting overlooked again. Champions usually get overrated but looks like Dirk literally had about 15 minutes of that.

Dirk over Griffin in the post should be a no brainer. Blake has severely limited post work currently. Dirk is a monster.

People sleep on Dirk's post game because he doesn't posterize anyone.

You're right but that makes no sense. Having a "post game" rarely results in someone getting posterized. And meanwhile, the Dream Shake is still legendary as his McHale's endless bag of tricks but I don't remember seeing any of those moves on a poster. Do fans not know what a post game is anymore?

Nowadays, a post-game means backing down and a spin move for a dunk. Apparently.

Shaq was crazy because his post footwork was really underrated (his footwork and agility in general). It was just insane seeing a guy that big move that well... and then remind us how big he is with a huge dunk at the end of the play.
