Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion
The Hornets need offensive firepower outside of Eric Gordon, Rivers is probably one of the best at putting up points in this draft. He needs work passing, etc. but the potential is there for him to be a great combo guard or PG in the NBA. To me he's basically a Russell Westbrook type player with less athleticism(although he could freaking jam in HS, in college not so much)Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion
As much as I didn't like the pick initially, I'd still rather have Waiters over Rivers. Rivers is a ball hog who thinks he's Kobe (but he's not, nor is he anywhere close) and has pretty much no court vision.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Im not saying Rivers is better then Waiters. Im just saying Rivers @ 10 is more reasonable then Waiters @ 4.Comment

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion
Well if that's your guy, then there's no point in getting picky over where you take him, you just take him. Whether Waiters got taken at 4 or 10 isn't going to make a difference in the player he becomes, so it's really just picking nits.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion
Rivers will end up like Brandon Jennings or maybe even a Jerryd Bayless. Rivers will end being a career sixth man at best. I think the video below sums him up very well.

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion
I think too much is put on his mental aspects so far, he was basically asked to carry that Duke team in an offense that wasn't particularly tailored to his offensive skills. Can he improve with his shot selection? Certainly but all of this is put off of 1 year at Duke that was pretty good for a freshman
He's only 19 years old and has all the physical tools to produce into a potential elite scorer in the NBA, he's in a good situation just let him grow as a player.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

And I'm not a fan of Rivers. And Monty thinks he can play a Rivers-Gordan backcourt?! LMAO, yeah, good luck with that Monty.Too Old To Game Club

Actually thats where your wrong. Teams are picky sometimes on when they take players. That would explain why they trade back a few spots.Comment

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion
At times on the floor he said he'd like to yes, but I don't see the issue. Gordon is capable of running the point Dwayne Wade style at time if need be until Rivers is ready.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment
