Quick Question: Do the draft picks have to sign the contract with what ever team drafted them?

No but the teams that do draft them own their rights.

As a Hornets fan, I will not happy if we pick Thomas Robinson as projected. We need someone like Harrison Barnes or Michael Kidd-Gilchrist to score at SF, Trevor Ariza can't do it. With our second pick we need a point guard OR a big center like Hibbert..

Well, there is a way around that but it would probably mean not playing in the NBA for the next 2-3 years and not being able to return to College.

But for the most part, the players that get drafted really don't have any leverage whatsoever to leave a team they don't want to play for. I know the Nets were planning on drafting Kobe Bryant but then once they found out that he had no desire to play in NJ(and who could blame him at the time?)they didn't even bother drafting him.

Its not like the NFL where a player could potentially hold out for a year and re-enter in the next draft. I believe that is correct, I was thinking of the Crabtree situation from a couple years ago.

I hope Tu Hollaway falls to the Lakers who have the last pick in the draft and we see a repeat of Isaiah Thomas.

Fully expect the Bobcats to find a way to get a pick outside of the lottery and lose that pick to the Bulls, and when they open the pick revealing that of the Bobcats, it will be nothing more than a middle finger.

If we draft MKG it won't be for his scoring. I'll be more than happy with Robinson. There really aren't a gang of scorers in this draft. My fear with Barnes is that he'll be more of a shooter than scorer.

I just can't be happy with Robinson at 6'9... of course there are alot of 6'9 PFs but I think we need to go big.

I don't think he's 6'9. They may be giving him an inch. However he has the body and physical gift to make up for being slightly undersized. Not to mention he's fearless in the paint. Has a pretty good post scoring ability and a decent jumper which it appears he may have extended it out to the 3pt line in his down time.

If I recall people called David West undersized, I can live with undersized at the PF position. It's the Center position that it stands out more imo.
