Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion
Then you have to add in that from what it sounds like, Drummond's perception on what he wants to be isn't what he should be, while Leonard at least knows what he is.Last edited by justblaze09; 06-27-2012, 04:17 PM.Lions, Tigers, Pistons, Michigan

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion
I feel that Leonard and Monroe won't take away from each other, while Drummond would. Plus, Leonard was the only consistent performer for Illinois last year and still performed for them, and I get the sense from the Big East fans here that that isn't the case with Drummond.

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion
Leonard at least knows he's a center. Again from what others have said in this thread, Drummond wants to be a 3 and thinks that's what he can do when it's not.Lions, Tigers, Pistons, Michigan

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion
More on it's not what was spoken, but more of how he played this last year.
I know I'm not the greatest source to speak on Drummond, but I trust ehh's and BEBR's as they have seen a lot more of him than me.
EDIT: And add Checkmate to that list.Lions, Tigers, Pistons, Michigan

Drummond compares himself favorably to Kevin Durant. True story.

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion
If I remember right, I thought he was saying it in the context of "Most big guys are told to just go down low and rebound, but guys like Kevin Durant have big man height but he doesn't go down low at all" and Drummond was basically just saying that he can do more than just be a guy like Perkins where they just rebound and play defense and do nothing else.NFL: Bills

He needs to embrace being a stretch 4 ala Zach Randolph, Kevin Garnett, even Derrick Coleman if you want to go back a little bit. He could be a really good stretch 4 if he'd commit to being a big on defense and playing the pick and pop game.Favorite Sports Teams

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion
I'd add PJ3 to the list of guys that need to say 'Hey, I'm 6'11", maybe I should work in the paint". Everything I've heard has him and his agent pushing him as an NBA 3, comparable to Kevin Durant. It's not happening. Supposedly PJ3 hates the physical contact in the paint.

Edit: Or even if he isn't on Durant's level as a ball-handler, I think he's up there with guys like Durant and Lamar Odom as far as handling the ball while being nearly 7 feet tall.Last edited by Yeah...THAT Guy; 06-27-2012, 05:54 PM.NFL: Bills
