Heck, if the Bulls end up with the league's best record, don't be surprise that Derrick Rose claims his second straight MVP award. Although no one is talking about him right now.
Derrick Rose is putting up 22-8 which, no one is talking tho.

Monta Ellis is putting up big numbers too but no one looks at him also. Not for MVP Ofcourse... But yeah

I expect in the second half of the season, Rose's PPG will go up, especially with the race for the #1 seed.

No way I see the Clippers with the same record without Paul. They'll probably be battling for the 8th spot but definitely not the 1st seed.

Ofcourse not. But when you have a guy like LeBron who's averaging 28, 7 and 8 boards, shooting 55 percent from the field???

Or a guy like KD, averaging 28, 3 and 8 shooting 52 percent...

It makes it hard Chris Paul to even get noticed.

I think the main thing that separates LeBron is the defense. Not saying Durant doesn't play any but LeBron can and has shut people down as of late. That's kind of what separates the Heat and Thunder. The Thunder can go on dominate defensive stretches during a game, the Heat can flat out dominate games which all starts with LeBron and Wade.

            Then Kevin Durant

I like Durant right now. But I don't think he doing that much differently. I'm talking about overall game. I still can't wait to see him with a post game. At 6-9/6-10 If you thought LeBron was hard to handle down there. Imagine Durant...

Anyone else is not worth talking about in my opinion.
I think the most important thing with LBJ is his post game. Doesn't matter much at all right now, but come playoff time it'll be huge. It's not even about getting points but having a balanced offense with him and Wade best when dominating the ball. The best way to have both on the floor against a team that forces them into half court sets is with Lebron spending time in the post.

As long as KD is, he should be able to just post and shoot the turnaround fall away. He can build from there but I don't know why he's not at least at that point. I think it'll be necessary for them to get a ring also, as long as Westbrook is playing the point like a SG.

Off topic but I wonder what kind of love Ellis would get if he were in Philly or NYC. He's reminded me of AI since he first got in the league. He's not on THAT level and definitely doesn't have that swag, but he gets absolutely no love at all.

Eh, I'm impressed that Kobe's kept his level of play up, but unless the Lakers end up being one of the top 2 teams in the West, I don't see him as a candidate at all. Not counting his first two years in the league when he wasn't really a great player yet, Kobe's having his 2nd least efficient season of his career. By TS% and eFG%, Kobe's having the worst season of his career. And the scoring is his calling card. I can't give MVP to a guy that makes his name scoring when he's doing it at the most inefficient rate of his career.

Paul has taken a Clippers team that was on the rise last year, and catapulted them up near the top, much earlier than they should have gotten there (as you can see when you watch them play sometimes.)

Several of the Clipper players just aren't ready for this level yet, but Chris Paul is pulling them up there. Also, he has taken over the 4th quarter duties on this team and has won several games for them (and lost that one to the Spurs, but that was an understandable mistake).

I have to dismiss Rose from the discussion, at this moment. The Bulls did more than fine without him in the line up for a couple of weeks.

Then there is everyone else...quick question if KD wins another scoring title for his third in a row how much do you think that would help his mvp chances?

There's two types of MVP, a true MVP which imo shouldn't be about stats at all but how valuable the player is, and how he is taking a big share of his team's wins on his back on D & on O.

The current MVP award is based solely on stats & team seeding, which is why I dislike it.

And to my point, that's why Paul has a case for being an MVP candidate (like I stated,he's at third with Kobe, Wade etc)

Anyway, as I mentioned, LeBron is the clear leader, he is excelling at every aspect.

                                1. LBJ
                                2. Durant
                                3. CP3
                                4. T.Parker

i think durant is closing in on LBJ though, he has hit so many clutch shots this year. and him and lebron have nearly identical stats, besides assists. But still lebron is playing better right now

CP3 has completely turned that organization around this year, so he deserves mention

Parker has carried the Spurs, a team almost everybody counted out this year, to one of the best records and has been playing out of his mind.

also, if Kevin Love was on a winning team, he would be in the top 3 for MVP.
