Only Bynum can have a 30 rebound night and still leave me shaking my head. I just don't know what the hell he is thinking sometimes.Redskins, Lakers, Orioles, UNC Basketball , and ND Football

Todd Jacobs on Andrew Bynum:
Andrew Bynum is one of the best big men in the NBA but his major flaw could unravel the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA playoffs. Bynum entered the NBA as a teenager and at times it appears he has not matured a day since first walking onto the court as a rookie for the Lakers in 2005, six days after his 18th birthday.
Bynum was the youngest player ever drafted in the NBA at the age of 17 years and 244 days and at the time of his first NBA game he was the youngest player ever to play in an NBA game. Kobe Bryant held the record before Bynum when he started a game at the age of 18 and 158 days.
The bond between the now mature Bryant and Bynum is etched in stone since Bynum's first practice. Bryant also struggled with maturity issues when he first came into the league but the spotlight was much brighter on the young Kobe. Kobe was being touted as the next Michael Jordan and this never sat well with Chicago Bulls fans or Jordan fans in general.
Bynum's biggest problem is that when he explodes he can do devastating damage to anyone getting under his skin. Last year Bynum found himself the center of trade talks after the season ended with an ejection, suspension and fine.
Bynum's cheap personal foul on small Dallas Mavericks point guard J.J. Barea drew criticism from NBA fans everywhere, including Los Angeles Lakers fans. The cheap shot almost earned Bynum a ticket out of Los Angeles but a deal never went down and Bynum served his four-game suspension to begin the season.
Bynum has already served another suspension after getting ejected for taunting the Houston Rockets bench April 7. The maturity issue has Los Angeles Lakers head coach Mike Brown upset but he said he and Bynum resolved their differences after the game.
Brown warned Bynum during a timeout that he had to be careful not to pick up a second technical in the game and then 45 seconds later Bynum headed to the showers. Losing Bynum contributed to a loss to the Rockets in a close game and with the NBA playoffs shaping up the timing could not have been worse.
If Andrew Bynum cannot control himself in the NBA playoffs this year then it is time to move on and trade the petulant center. Bynum has long been a problem for the Lakers between his temper and penchant for getting injured at the worst possible times.

Ridiculous criticism and over reacting on Drew lately. Media loved that ****. Keep beasting big man, can't wait for the playoffs. Before the season Bynum was arguably the second best big. Now he's a clear cut above anyone not named Dwight.
Next stop. Can the playoffs just start already?
