    Los Angeles Lakers ‏ @Lakers
RT @KevinDing: Metta World Peace made a statement saying it was "unintentional" and hoping James Harden was OK. Didn't take any questions.

...and lets stop trying to compare this to the 80s and 90s as some kind of excuse to defend Ron Artest...that makes it more pathetic
I would understand if he got 5 games. But I doubt he will. Five games would mean the last game of the season and potentially much or maybe all of the first round. I hate to say it, but the NBA is not going to do the Lakers like that.

Man there are no flashers... now what are we going to do for vd
I'm sure there's plenty of prostitutes you could pay if you really want vd.
yea but will they take psn cards
Depends on what area of a hooker you would use to redeem them.

I dont think the team as a whole is dirty

but Bynum and Artest even Kobe has shown tendencies of taking cheap shots in the past when they're losing or frustrated

Didn't say the Lakers as a whole are a dirty team, after all didn't the Spurs get painted with that same generalization when Horry and Bowen were here, just they have - like every team - players of questionable on-court character. Bynum, Barnes and World Peace will all throw cheapshots when frustrated and losing.

Stephen Jackson, as much as I love the guy, is a similar player to those three. Doesn't mean Timmy, Tony, Manu and the rest would do the same.

I can see those guys being seen like that. Artest is definitely crazy, I wouldn't say he is malicious and tries to hurt players. Kobe and Bynum are definitely babies and take their frustration out on others. I'd say Bynum is definitely more like Kobe was in the past in that regard.

Thats exactly what he did today

It wasnt an accident at all. You don't **** your arm back that far on an elbow that you dont mean to inflict some force onto whatever it is you're hitting

Especially in a situation where there was no need for an elbow. There is on way he can explain himself out of this one to David Stern

Especially since he went for JJ Barea's head last year in the playoffs

Dude, what else could be your intent when elbowing someone in the back of the head? Artest maybe crazy, like Rodman, but that doesn't excuse his violent and dangerous behavior. Harden will likely miss some time with that injury. I'm hoping he doesn't miss any playoff games.

Kobe and Bynum maybe immature, yet history shows they'll clobber you around the neck and ribcage when frustrated and losing. Matt Barnes is the posterboy for a modern day dirty player. He's had incidents of dirty/reckless play nearly every place he's played.

Until either of you can tell me he sizes him up, looks at his head, aims and fires I can't say that he was trying to elbow him in the head.

If I'm the Heat, why do I bother bringing Mike Miller back next year? Talk about someone that's worthless....sheesh.

I could care less about sizing him up man it doesnt even take all of that

He could've crushed the dudes temple

I can't even believe anyone can bring themselves to defend this

If he's going to act out of control then punish him like he is, plain and simple

If you're going to tell me he lost it then he belongs out of the game because he's not stable and a danger to other players

If you tell me he did it on purpose he needs a severe punishment to put an end to crap like that.

I have no problem with 5 games, and wouldn't have a problem with 10 either. Those kinds of cheap, dangerous, non basketball plays have no place in the game.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Honestly thats what it looked like to me. Really odd thing to happen the way it did to begin with. Don't think he had it out for Harden, didn't seem pre meditated. Swung an elbow by some force of nature inside of himself. Not defending what he did just my two pennies. 5-10 games surely. Assuming it'll be closer to 10 because of nationally broadcast Sunday game between two top tier NBA teams.
