Re: NBA Game Discussion Thread Apr 17th - Apr 22nd
Is it possible for the league to have a Co-Coach of the Year award this year? Both Thibs and Pop have done great jobs this year and it's going to be tough to vote for one over the other.#RespectTheCultureComment

Good win without Timmy in the line-up. Can't take any of these last games for granted.

That's some faulty logic. Thibs won last year so Pops should win this year? Just like the MVP award it should go to the guy that actually legit deserves it and not some stand in just cause voters feel they need to run some crusade against somebody, or control the number of times somebody has won it or so on.Comment

We can go back and forth on this all night and never change each other's minds. I hope Harden is ok and I would hate to see either team negatively effected in the playoffs because of something that happened today. Ultimately the punishment is in Stu Jackson's hands. Glad to be back in the bball forums.

Plus, the Spurs could win 50 games for the 13 consecutive seasons (breaking the previous record).

And judging by how the League has handled their "punishments", I wouldn't expect them to "drop the hammer".#RespectTheCultureComment

As someone in an administrative role that has to make decisions on punishments and suspensions, you have to take intent into account before you "Go Goodell" and just go about arbitrarily passing out death sentences on someone. You look at the replay, you take into account things like, his excuse, windup, follow-through, acknowledgement of Harden before and after.
I have said he deserves 3-5 games out, but I disagree with people calling Artest "a piece of ****", disgraceful, and worse on twitter. The game is over, its in Jackson's hands now. Time to move on.Favorite Teams:

Dude, my point is that their both deserving of the award, but no one (IMO) has done a better job then Pop. The Bulls are now consider annual contender, while the Spurs are supposed to be fading away, but Pop has coached to the second best record in the league. He's done this while his (in some people's opinions) best player has missed 1/3 the season and mixing new, young pieces (Leonard and Green).
Plus, the Spurs could win 50 games for the 13 consecutive seasons (breaking the previous record).

Coach of the year, like MVP is just too damn close to say that one guy absolutely deserves it over another or is doing a far better job than his competition. Especially when you consider the fact that both CJ Watson and Derrick Rose have missed quite a few games this year leaving us rolling with John Lucas and Mike friggin James.Comment
